Gift for the Team

I know that a few of us have spoken up about several gift ideas and suggestions. What I'd like to do is present the team with a gift at the last home game this season. I'd like to give them something that each player could take home, if that's even possible I'm not even sure.
But all I know, is that this has been an emotional season and it looks like things are looking up to keeping them here.

So I'd like us all to come together and brainstorm ideas of what people think would be best.

If we want it to be something that each player can take home, maybe something along the lines of a gag trophy of some sort saying "thanks for hanging through the tough times". I'm not very creative, apologies for that, but I'm thinking something sentimental without being sappy (read GAY):)

that sounds like a pretty good idea. we could put each players name on each one with a little quote of some sort. like the groin.

I do like the idea of doing something for each guy. Maybe a scarf could be designed and made in time? Everybody sponsors a scarf and we present them to them at the end of the year? I don't know if we could personalize each though or if it had to be one design.

We could put something on them maybe that talked about going through hardship before reaching a goal...maybe if it was in latin too. ;)

I'll talk to him. I'll try and get an estimate together for cost so that i can bring the topic to the tailgate tomorrow.

I think it's an amazing idea.
One that i'd be willing to put whatever money PERSONALLY into it

it's a cool idea definitly but my question is cost per person to get these made for the players. Course I guess if you donated X amount, maybe you got a scarf too.

That's why I was thinking we'd need to get each person to "sponsor" one, like we do for Man of the Month. Sponsorship would allow you to present them at the end of the year. I'd guess it would probably be close to what Ben paid for the Wizards scarves. 28 players on the roster, Curt, Bliss, Cone? We could find 31 people that want to do this I think. I think Ben's paid off his outlay for the scarves and we still have a bunch left. I'd buy an extra (or four) as a keepsake.

They charge $8 a scarf. Mininum order of 100.
SO. Is this something that we want to pursue. We ordered 250 supporters scarves. And there will be aprox. 35 needed for the team and coaches. I know that alot of the cauldron members would like to buy one. I'd have to try and see if the LLC could help donate some money for the process, but like i sd I'm willing to put in a fair amount of my own, but for sure not a bulk of the cost.
If we could get like 25 people to donate 15=375
30=$15=450
i'd be willing to fork over some money, what can the LLC possibly help us out with.
And is this the route we want to go.
I think this is a great idea, of course. Something that the entire team and coaching staff can take away with them as well as us supporters.

But the thing is it takes a 4 week turn around, so we have about 6ish weeks i think..

and i'm going to to talk to that wade guy. i forget who it is, but he went through another company for MOTM scarves, and i think he got them cheaper. i'll try and find out what company. and i was told that there isnt a certain amount you ahve to order, so we wouldnt be forced into buying 100. though i'm with you, i'd also get one for keepsakes.
i'll get on the phone tomorrow and post what i find out.

I just got this email from wade. Not sure if this is the cheaper way to go. BUT if we went with wade, we would DEF save money because we wont be forced to order 100.

Well we could easily have enough so shipping won't be an issue, and I like the idea of a custom one for each player with their name on it, but that's a lot for each scarf. I'd be willing to throw down for a couple, but we'd need enough people to do at least 28 for the team.

Well, we'd only be saving 5 bucks per scarf. If we have individual sponsors, I think that's worth it to make it custom.

Andy Mead suggested scarves for the new owners (6) -- I think that is a great idea. Maybe that can be part of this project too.

At some point we need to draw the line or get money from the team - I'm sure we could squeeze some funds out of the team.

Primarily, I'm interested in getting six scarves that mirror the MOTM design but with "OWNER" where "AUG 2006" is.

I'd also like to make one with "Wizards 'Til I Die" on it and "LAMAR" and "HUNT" on the ends for Lamar in appreciation for all that he has done.

I'm not as interested in doing the full team set at this time, but I'm not necessarily against it, either.
