After much confusion about who would get to play for two ties, both sides worried about nothing as Corinthians schooled São Paulo 3-2 in an electrifying Saturday night thriller. Both sides played the game with a man down as Corinthians' defender Kléber and SP's midfielder Reinaldo exchanged pushes and shoves in the early minutes of the match. Things didn't get better for São Paulo in the red card department when late in the game, Fabio Simplício got sent to the showers early, leaving his team a man down in the 86th minute. A disputed 2-2 tie up until this point, Corinthians didn't fail to seize the opportunity and scored two minutes later, sealing their 25th Paulista title.
