Here is a link to a news report on CBC about the Vancouver 86ers'. The CSL was collapsing and everyone from the fans to the players knew it. Good video of a player driving a courier truck to make ends meet and Bobby Lenarduzzi saying the APSL "may" let them in if the CSL folds

... and how right he was. The APSL would have folded if the Impact, Blizzard and 86'ers hadn't joined. They were down to four teams.

Saw that story a while back. Did you note how low the average salary was according to the report. Something like 7k a year wasn't it?

And how different was it from any other job back then?

Dolan would be stuck in the same position even if he wasn't playing soccer.
