Been hearing alot about the 22year old on the transfer circuit... Call me blind but watching the WC I barely noticed him, mostly glued to the big guns... :P Anyone have any ideas on what to expect from him?... Skill wise and such?...

The 23 players that Felipao brought to Japanrea are top notch in terms of skill.

Just notice how Brazil improved its game after the Brazil X England game (his first from start). He demostrated to be a great (and fast, and precise) defensive midfielder, with great skill and confidence. I think he made the difference on that midfield!

BOTH KLEBERSON AND GILBERTO SILVA WERE
TREMENDOUS IN THE WORLD CUP. THEY BROKE UP THE OPPONENTS ATTACK WITH MUCH SKILL AND GRACE. YOU KNOW THEY ARE DOING THEIR JOB
WHEN YOU HARDLY NOTICE THEM.

Kleberson got into the attack more, esp.
vs. Germany(just needs to work on his
shot outside the box). A player that I
expect will get better for the green and
yellow.

That's great - until I read the bit about the woman being, well, a girl. 15 years old? Yes, culture, blah blah. But c'mon. Surely he can handle a woman closer to his own age, right?

Should be interesting.

Sounds like an episode of 'The Jerry Springer Show'. There was one about these 2 men from Canada fighting over a 15 Year-old girl (Canada's legal age is 14). Kleberson's girlfriend agreed to the leeds move if he promised to marry her on her 16th Birthday (16 is the legal age in Britain), but she won't be 16 until Valentine's day (14 days after the transfer market closes for the season).

So, did the Ronaldinho-ManU saga flop in anyway affected Kleberson's transfer to the Red Devils? I haven't found anything on the net that the deal was consolidated.

Brazilian World Cup winner Kleberson has been linked with a move to Old Trafford. A bid for the midfielder could hinge on whether or not Ronaldinho joins United. Kleberson has caught the eye of many Premiership clubs, and was in talks with Leeds United last season, but the deal collapsed.

After some time in the limbo, Kleberson gets work permit in England and signs with Manchester United:

http://www.foxsportsworld.com/content/view?contentId=1577216

In the space of a few hours on Tuesday the Reds completed a five-year deal for Portuguese 18-year-old forward Cristiano Ronaldo, and then wrapped up the signing of Brazilian international midfielder Kleberson - also for five years.

United paid Sporting Lisbon 12.24 million pounds (US$19.7 million) for Ronaldo, and 5.93 million pounds (US$9.5 million) to Brazilian side Atletico Paranaense.

Kleberson becomes the first Brazilian to play for Man United, and joins Ronaldo as another Portuguese speaker on the team.

The signing of Kleberson, 24, makes up for the near-signing of Ronaldinho, who moved to Barcelona last month after negotiating with Man United.

"Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has completed the transfer of the registration of Jose Pereira Kleberson," the club said.

Kleberson sounded just as happy.

"To be the first Brazilian to sign for United is special," Kleberson said. "This is the biggest opportunity of my life. I had offers from other clubs, but they weren't Manchester United."

Added manager Alex Ferguson: "We're delighted Kleberson is joining us because we've been chasing him for quite a few months."

"He played in the World Cup final for Brazil, and his then coach Phil Scolari said he was first choice every time in the team."

I'd like to know from the Premier/ManU fans here what are they thinking of Kléberson so far. I just hope he will be fit to play the next round of WCQs and show the same football that helped Brazil in the 2nd phase of last World Cup.

Good analysis by Ron Atkinson on Kleberson's performance.
