Well, will this be another big egg on the table for us? I certainly hope not.
But the injury bug is killing us where we are already weak -- central defense. I long for November and Mr. Gibbs being healthy and fit.
Best guess at a lineup [4-4-2]:
Carson [the man]
Young - Fortune - HH - Traore
Ambrose - Faye - Holland - Reid
JFH - D. Bent
Subs - Myhre, Kishishev, Hughes, Rommedahl, M. Bent
But ID could go 4-3-3:
Carson
Young - Fortune - HH - Traore
Holland - Faye - Reid
Ambrose - JFH - D. Bent
Or how about 3-5-2:
Carson
Young - HH - Traore
Faye - Kishishev
Ambrose - Holland - Reid
JFH - D. Bent

Don't forget about Bolanos! I read that his permits are approved.

If only ID would play him in the middle as the playmaker. We need someone who can make that last pass. Otherwise, I don't think we will score much.

Today's actual lineup:
Carson; Young, Traore, Hreidarsson, El Karkouri; Ambrose, Hughes, Am Faye, Reid; Hasselbaink, D Bent.
Subs: Myhre, Kishishev, Holland, Rommedahl, M Bent.
Well, I'm happy to not see Holland in the starting lineup. But I'm not sure about El K. He hasn't been consistent at all.
Go Addicks!

HH gets a straight red card. How stupid!
You cannot take vengence. Just because Kevin Davies keeps elbowing El K in the head and doesn't get a card doesn't mean HH should go head hunting.
Now we could be out of the match after a very bright start.
I hate Bolton very much. They are a dirty team that gets away with way too much. But we cannot let ourselves be drawn in. Boy, I wish Gibbs was healthy and fit.
It will be hard to listen to the rest of this match now.

According to our reporters, with HH off, ID brings on Kishishev for Ambrose.
That would line up us at:
Carson
Young - El K - Traore - Kishishev
Hughes - Faye - Reid
JFH - D. Bent
Maybe we should be starting Fortune and Traore in central defense with Ashton and Young wide.
I still don't understand sacrificing the attacking Ambrose. He can hold the ball better than Hughes and can score. Hughes might have a slight advantage playing defense, but when you have a player that can attack, keep him on.
D. Bent and JFH really need to get the ball and put the pressure on the Nasties.

I haven't been able to listen to the second half.
Penalty for Bolton saved by Carson!
Penalty for the Addicks scored by D. Bent.
Addicks 1 - 0 Bolton

Davies sent off -- finally!
10 v 10 with less than 30 mintues left.

I'm glad we are ahead. But I am worried that the only goals we have scored so far this season are penalties.
We don't have anyone in the midfield making the final pass.
Anyone know anything about Hibs' Scott Brown? He's 21-year-old midfielder that attacks and can score. I wish we could get someone like that for the middle.

Finally, a flick from JFH to Bent and Darren finishes! 2 - 0!
That should be game with less than 5 mintues plus stoppage left!

I was wrong about how we lined up after Kishishev came on.
Carson
Young - Faye - El K - Traore
Hughes - Kishishev - Reid
JFH - D. Bent
Just add Ambrose back and that's a pretty good lineup.
I really don't like the idea, but maybe Faye is our temporary answer in central defense. Play him as a sweeper, the other as a stopper with Kish as dmid in front of both of them. That keeps Young and Traore wide and strong.

M. Bent on for JFH.
I think Holland came on for a cramping Reid.
Only a couple of minutes and stoppage left.

I like the fact that we have been the fitter club today. It's nice to see us stronger throughout the match than our opposition.

Full time! Unbelieveable!
This season is going to be interesting.
I hope that D. Bent's second goal today is the one that knocks the lid off the cookie jar -- and we start scoring from open play.
Go Addicks! We are on the board!

I just saw somewhere in Dowie's comments after the game that there is some sort of appeal or something going on with the work permit for Bolanos. No indication if that is good or bad.
Although Reid played well today, we do need to get Bolanos on the field. Who knows, ID might actually put both Reid and Bolanos on the field at the same time. Yes, I know, I keep hoping for even more attacking attitude.
A stray thought popped through my mind as I searched my brain for central defenders that might be available. Wouldn't some of us like to have Chris Perry back now? I would. He's not a fabulous central defender, but it would have been great to have him available now.

Wow.. I was about to put on my shoes and go for a bike ride and watch the rest of the game later.. the Carson saves.. then Reid sends Bent on and wins a penalty.. davies sent off and a JFH flick on for Bent and another goal.
Double wow.
Maybe the scrappy hard working never giving up addicks we want to see are back!
You could feel the energy just lift when carson made the save, the addickted believed and stayed behind the boys.
Carson is the keeper you've been wanting for years Hartley, I'll give you the "the man" status now. He dominates the area like Deano didn't.
Hmm.. don't remember where I read about Bolanos but there is a article on the official site that there is a work permit appeal on tuesday so I must've been wrong

Yes, we have always needed a take charge keeper. Carson seems to take away the crosses that have always killed us on set pieces. It would be great if we can actually purchase this promising young Englishman.
And also augment our central defense in front of him. This we need to do now -- before the window closes.
