This (http://dumbonyc.com/2006/08/14/dumbo-in-sept-2006-vanity-fair/) looks completely terrifying, it's true. But muster up your courage and take a look at the photo at the bottom of the page. Apparently that's Seth Stammler, Steve Jolley and some other energy drink whores (http://www.paddocktalk.com/news/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=39138), all dressed up like Clint Mathis circa 2002.
So the real question, ahead of Saturday night's game, is: How jealous will Landon Donovan be of this photo spread, and how will his game be affected by the distracting whines of his ego all night?

They originally had Landon pencilled in for the shoot, but he wouldn't budge on his request to be filmed licking water from a fountain. There was some negotiations but when Cobi asked to be in the picture as well that's when things broke down. Eventually they decided it just didn't fit with the look they wanted so they had to look elsewhere.
Mathis was also supposed to be in the shoot but they found him passed out in a gutter with an empty 22 of Budweiser in one hand and a half eaten hoagie in the other. Originally they were just going to wake him up and get him to the studio but when he woke up he asked if they were going to eat the hoagie and when they said no, he proceeded to tear into it with glee. He was so consumed with it they decided they couldn't wait.
It was at that point that Stammler and "friends" showed up. He whispered with a lisp in the director's ear "redbull gives us wings" and they were signed on the spot.
Is it just me or did everyone think Kate Moss had a pile of coke on her head? ;)

As if she'd let a pile of coke sit on her head unmolested
editor's note: despite our trolling for the easy laugh we wish Ms. Moss nothing but success in her continuing efforts to overcome substance abuse issues. Good luck to you Kate, and how 'bout a high five while you're sitting there.

This is awesome. I'm sure Landon will buy 40 copies of the issue and wear himself out before the game pleasuring himself towards the Red Bull players.

Can these guys do nothing original? Another lame team shoot, pretendig to be Clint Mathis, in a scene from Taxi Driver. they have a DCU coaching staff ...... and even their silly outfits on this shoot are used.
The players are sporting mohawks and camouflage army-surplus

Does anybody else find it ironic that Taxi Driver (the movie this shoot was based on) has won precisely 9 more awards than RBNY?

I'm amazed she and Pete Doherty weren't chewing on the thing. Then again, we don't know what happened after the shoot...;)
