Convey misses with what matchtracker says was a "good shot"

Convey takes a pass from Seol, wrong-foots his defender, then blazes a 22 yard shot over the net. Close, but Kirkland had it covered.
BTW, a friend is at Front Page Sports Bar in Orlando, and is keeping me posted (they have the Setanta feed there, and a $10US cover is a bargain for a whole day of football and beer) Unfortunately I have to work :-(

Wigan almost breaks the ice on a shot by Landzat from just inside the box, but Hanneman blocks it and smothers the rebound.

Ah, ok, makes sense.
I actually found a stream (accidentally) a couple seconds ago, but it works for about a second every two minutes. I got to look at Seol's back for a little while, though.

Wigan's Henri Camara is replaced by David Connelly. Announcers say he apparently went lame in the hamstrings, and immediately asked out.

Heskey was just yellow carded, not sure why yet.

GREAT save by Hannemann to deny Valencia from the 18 after a neat set-up by the sub Connelly. Hannemann tips a blazing shot around his left post.

Damn, there's Heskey again with the first goal of the game.

I actually got the stream to work for 10 seconds, and it stopped right when the ball was about halfway to him. Jebus.

McCullough with a sliderule through ball and Heskey slipped it under Marcus. Seems as though Murty and Storey are really struggling with Heskey's size and strength.

The Royals started well, but Wigan has been gradually taking the play to them since about the 1/2 way mark of the half, and the goal actually was a just reward. At present Reading has no answer for Heskey.

Here's the interval, 1-0 Wigan. Score is about right as Wigan have been the brighter side since about the 20 minute mark. Convey has had a good shot and several nice runs, but overall Reading have been underwhelming so far.

Scharner with a yellow..
for a nasty tackle on Harper that perhaps should have earned a harsher verdict.

Scharner now earns a free from 20 yards out left of center, and Reading's Copple, players and bench are furiously calling for Scharner's 2nd yellow for a Portuguese quality dive, but they don't get any satisfaction until Valencia shanks the free a mile wide of Hanneman's net.

Another let off for Reading as Connelly again shreds the central D with a beautiful through ball, but this time Heskey tries to chip Hannemann and the ball drifts onto the top of the net. Hanneman's quick reaction forced Heskey into a low percentage shot and bailed out Murty yet again. This is getting ugly as Heskey is running rampant through the Royals' D.
