Seriously, does Drogba embarrass the hell out of you guys or what? Watching him flopping and flailing around absolutely chafes me. There's no way a guy with his strength and athletic ability should be such a cheat and a [female genitalia].
With the level of class that Chelsea has on the field, he has to be an embarrassment to his teammates (well, except Robben!). Having such a class player as Shevchenko opposite him just serves to amplify how much of a shameless cheat Drogba is.
Diving is the scourge of the Premiership.

Even though I would tend to agree that Drogba does dive often, this is simply a troll thread and should be shut down. The dive theme has been beaten to death after the world cup.

Sorry, I didn't participate in the diving discussions after the WC. I don't intend to be trolling. Seriously, You watch Shevchenko and you see how the game is supposed to be played and then you see a shameless cheat like Drogba and he makes you want to put your fist through your television.
I'm an Arsenal fan, and I would gladly put Reyes on the list. He's earned it.

I saw 2 incidents from Drogba yesterday. The 1st was probably a foul which he over-reacted to and didn't get, and the 2nd was in the 2nd half where he went over like he'd been shot. I wonder whether another player would have got the 1st one if they didn't a) have his reputation b) do that silly twisting fling.
The booking he got was very funny though!! :)

It's not so much the diving. It's how he rolled around on the ground as much and as fast as possible after being tackled. It's silly to watch.

Are we talking about the non-called studs up tackle? Or a different one? Oh yah. Diving sucks but maybe if a referee would pull his head out of his arse from time to time players wouldn't feel the need to sell things. I hate diving but the fact is that referees are as much to blame as the players. They don't card diving properly and they miss obvious calls around the box because they don't have the balls to make the calls.

you're havin a bubble if you think that first one was an overreaction, two-footed studs up challenge, shouldve been an yellow, couldve been a red.

Yes, I should be more specific. It's really the histrionics that annoy me more than the actual diving.
I really wouldn't get so enraged over it if a guy lets himself go to ground to try to get a call but then immediately pops back up and keeps playing. But Drogba (and many others like him) acts as though he stepped on a landmine and his mangled leg is dangling in a bloody heap. Then a couple minutes later after he "recovers", you see him blazing downfield and putting a shot on goal.
If I was a referee, I would show him a yellow and then tell him "I'm not going to have that crap in my game. This is football, not theatre. Do it again and you get a red".
If we did that, this silliness would be exterminated from the Premiership in one month.

I agree but I'm not sure he would be talking about that challenge. There were at least 3 other incidents of Drogba flopping and flailing around with absolutely nothing in it. What gets me is I really appreciate the strength and tenacity he gives w/out the ball. However that's what makes it so sad and so funny when he tries to flop like a helpless lightweight while on the ball.

Totally agree with you there, the man is actually a decent player it's just his reputation and his antics get the better of him.
What angers me is after he got booed by Chelsea fans last season he actually seemed to have cut his ridiculous diving out and because of that became a much, much better player, but lo and behold he was up to it again last night at times.

At times, yes. I don't think he was nearly as guilty of this as Reyes though. As much as I love Arsenal, I have found myself yelling at Reyes to get his butt up off the ground at least once every game.
Robben is an embarrassment as well. I think guys like this should be fined by the league after review of replays.

Even mentioning Henry in the same sentence as Drogba, Reyes, Robben, or Pires on this subject is a joke.
You should be embarrassed.

I hate it when our players feel the need for diving. We should have the ability to win without cheating. We shouldn't feel the need to resort to the "we're better than you" attitude I worry is creeping in.
You never see JT go down like Gerrard, Drogba, etc - bounces straight back up and gets on with it. That's why he's captain!!
This surrounding the referee cr*p has to stop too - it is embarrassing. We don't have to take over United's role in every part of the game.

Pre World Cup perhaps...but not after the knockout stages. Henry was just as bad as any of them.

Sorry, badly explaining on my part. I should have said it was certainly a foul, and probably a booking, but he did that 'fling' that characterises every tumble he takes. It's stupid really because he might have got it if it wasn't for that and his reputation...
