Here's a quote from the dcunited.com page:

GETTING A LOOK

Three members of United's U-17 boys team are gathering interest from abroad. Midfielders Jeremy Barlow and Matt Poole and goalkeeper Stephen Mapp have been asked to join English Premier League side Coventry City for a two-week trial in mid April.

that i can't tell you but DCU does have some good youth teams. it would be nice if we had some type of club team in college like BYU, then we could always have the best players go there and be able to train as much as they want and still go to school. for me that is the best way for player development. just need to follow the steps of BYU and play in the PDL. best known would be the U15 team. they won a tournement in england. you've probally read about it already.

here's some links about the DC United Youth Team(s).

this is about a tournement they went to. they played against other youth teams from EPL and beat them all.

They play for Reston FC, one of the better U-17 club teams in the U.S. and the one that got second at Dallas. D.C. Youth do not practice with the senior squad, it is not anything close to an actual professional European setting - these guys practice with their Reston team everyday of the week rather than DCU.

MOD NOTE: I moved this to the Youth Soccer forum because it relates to DC's team in the Super Y-League and does not pertain directly to age-group national teams.

Its a scam. The United U-14 youth team went and picked up the U-14 teams from Reston F.C. and Mclean and called it good! players from Prince William, Potomac, Braddock Road, and Columbia got duped. The Columbia keeper is playing with the Region I ODP team and didn't even make the first cut!

Reston got killed by Texans in the final of the dallas cup. 4-1. they are not that good of a team. I have seen them play mulitple times. Nothing spectacular. Definately above average but i think they are overrated.

I'd have to agree, they are pretty overrated - they aren't the deepest team ever even though I think they give out pretty equal playing times to all their players.
