Spain can take a big step in securing that top spot if they defeat Ukraine next week.

Lots of contenders playing each other the next 2 weeks actually.

que viva España,
y siempre la recordarán,

I am looking forward to the Czech Republic at Netherlands match. Hopefully the Czech Republic can at least come away with a tie... or even better a 1-0 victory :D

Sorry.

If it makes you feel any better, I really don't think the Czech team will be able to win in Holland.

¿Does the content of my posts even remotely show that I'm a guy who has got the brains for a big paying job?

I think not!

If they end up playing this Sunday...

"The qualifying programme for next year's European Championships resumes next Saturday under a huge shadow cast by the war in Iraq."

Are any of these games gonna be available on PPV in the US?

There are some great matches in this matchday. Cyprus v Israel in Group 1 should be interesting as they fight for second in the group, Denmark and Romania should be a good battle in Group 2, the Czech Rep. v Holland should be one of the best matches as these two teams are clearly better than the rest in their group, Poland are in a must win situation against Hungary in Group 4, Scotland will look to take all 6 points against Iceland in what should be a close affair, Spain I think will at least pick up a draw in Kiev against Ukraine in Group 6, the England-Turkey match in Group 7 should be very exciting with a lot on the line, in Group 8 Croatia must get a good result against Belgium or they may be long gone, Italy and Wales will look for expected victories in Group 9, and Russia will look to keep their perfect record against Albania and the Rep. of Ireland will look for their first points when they face Georgia. It should be very exciting all around next Saturday, with another matchday just days later. A lot will be on the line.

"VADUZ, March 24 (Reuters) - England's Euro 2004 qualifier in Liechtenstein will go ahead as planned on Saturday after organisers provided guarantees over security, the Football Associations of both countries said on Monday."

Yes, according to soccertv.com....

The front page has a full listing of matches available on PPV. However, some of the games are also on closed circuit.

My mistake in my previous post, England is playing Liechtenstein not Turkey as that is on April 2nd. England though will still need to pick up the 3 points if they want to stay in the race for first with Turkey.

Btw, I posted this in a different thread, but if anyone would like to read my articles on the 10 groups so far go to www.soccerwriter.com and click on "other libraries" then the red link that follows.

Some games in progress today:

Armenia 0-0 Northern Ireland (75th minute)
Scotland 1-0 Iceland (35th minute)
Georgia 0-1 Rep. of Ireland (35th minute)
Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan (5th minute)

final result:

Armenia 1-0 Northern Ireland

in progress:

Georgia 1-1 Rep. of Ireland (65th minute)
Scotland 1-1 Iceland (65th minute)
Wales 3-0 Azerbaijan (HT)
Romania 1-1 Denmark (25th minute)

Tough loss for NI, they dominated so much of the match only to lose at the end...Scotland and Rep. of Ireland also playing in close matches, Wales will win that match and go to 4-0-0, incredible.

Final Scores

Armenia 1-0 Northern Ireland
Georgia 1-2 Ireland
Scotland 2-1 Iceland

In progress
Wales 4-0 Azerbaijan
Romania 2-1 Denmark
Belarus 0-1 Moldova
Albania 0-0 Russia
Cyprus 0-0 Israel

Good wins for Scotland and the Republic. Both teams needed it. Wales, still playing like a mad man.

more final results:

Scotland 2-1 Iceland
Georgia 1-2 Rep. of Ireland
Wales 4-0 Azerbaijan

in progress:

Romania 2-2 Denmark (60th minute)
Belarus 1-1 Moldova (45th minute)
Cyprus 0-1 Israel (20th minute)
Albania 0-0 Russia (20th minute)

Big wins for Scotland and the Rep. of Ireland...Wales just looks great right now but they won't play again until August 20th. Romania and Denmark is a back and forth game, and Israel is looking in good shape on the road after an early goal.
