Intersting game because Marioni will play his ex-team and will probably be cursed out by the fans like it happened to Kikin

...as veron said it, we have to not only focus on marioni but in all the attack the escarlatas have up front as well...

...this should be one of the best games this weekend...

...vamos pumas!!!...

Screw marioni

ahora con otro equipo muesta que apenas puede ser peligroso. Si la defensa no se ponen como unos babosos vamos a estar bien para este partido.

hay que ir con furia y ganas para mostrar que marioni no salio a algo mejor!

Yep, screw him, I really cannot see us winning this one, but at least I think we should see some goals, I think it will be maybe 3-1 or 3-2 to them, something like that....although despite Marioni scoring in every game so far for Toluca, and getting 6 goals in 5 games, one thing the last 12 months have shown us:- he can't ********ing score in CU...

One thing you guys have to realize about Toluca is that their strong points the last three seasons, hasn't been their offense but their defense. We got an extremely tight defense, and now we got a good attack. So were dangerous all over the park, if PUMAS wants to beat us they have to control the midfield.

I see this game going to Toluca 1-0 or 2-0.

ta bueno,

esto es lo que pienso viendo todos los partidos de Pumas. Leandro tiene que tomar control y pedir el balon. El es el quien tiene que dirigir el ataque. asi como hizo en su gol de porteria a porteria.

no se puede desaparecer.

...i agree, ******** marioni, but i think we should still worry about their attack....

...yes, toluca is a solid team...so what?...i too on paper think toluca is a bit more solid than pumas but not impossible to defeat, that is just nonsense, statistics dont really apply well in futbol...

...we have our last 3/4 of our attack practically unknown by the mexican teams because we just built it with new players under a new coach and so that is one of our surprise elements...i would use our defending wings like velarde or castro for a few moments in the attack mode to try to surprise their defense which would be worried on our attacking forwards (of course one of our midfielders would have to cover their ass in their back when they move forward) and so men coming from behind are often unmarked...knowing how toluca is, as long as we score one goal quick or not allow one, we can defend well our lead and manage the pace of the game cuz a team like toluca does would risk more once they are down...

...tuca could also come out defending and countering, i think that would throw toluca off balance a bit...for that we would have to have fast counter with inyighez and morales on the bands and maybe our new brasileiro as center forward...

...i would put a few hard fouls on marioni and sachez just to scare them off and make them think twice about penetrating...or a continuation of small fouls towards them...gotta do it...we must win, win, win...

...tuluca would have a hard time on CU, i guarrantee it...is either a tie or a pumas win by a narrow score...

We also did beat them two-one in pre-season (Castro and Pikolin scorers), but, of course, pre-season means even less than stats, possibly!

I agree about getting it hard up 'em, but not sure if those two scare easily, hopefully after last saturday the refs might want to keep their cards in their pockets, if we went down to ten men early on.... As you say, predictions, stats, previous encounters etc etc count for little, all that matters is the score at final whistle, and we certainly could beat them, but to stick me neck out I am gong to say 3-1 to them:- but I much prefer your view, franco, and as you say anything can happen (look:- Chelsea lost to Boro today, after Boro lost to Reading at the weekend, who would have predicted either of those results? - Pumas winning is much more likely than those two)

...yeah, i am worried too about going out and fouling them because is risky business (you know how refs are in this league about the cards)...but as long as tuca makes them understand how the fouls should be and where in the field to make them, we should be fine...they can all rotate on fouling them from their own field, therefore interrupting their exit and rythm...teams should be able to manage this dirty tactic...that should be part of a well rounded coach, however it is all speculation on my part and i am not the coach:( ...but that it can be done intelligently, it sure can...

...i say one scenario being toluca may just sit back and wait for pumas to attack, if this is the case they would obvioulsy try to counter so we gotta be alert for it...

...this game could really turn out to be boring giving both coaches play with 4-4-2 systems and a bit to wait and let you attack (toluca dose so more than pumas)...it could be a very tactical game where a mistake could make either team win...we have to be careful possesing in having the ball and not giving it away easy and in taking advantage of the few scoring opportunities i think pumas would generate...

...if tuca also waits and lets toluca do their thing toluca could get a little overconfident and pumas could then try to get them on a counter (thing tuca did against veracruz already)...a sign of this second scenario happening would be having morales and inyiguez on the field or throwing pareja up front (maybe by the second half)...either way is gonna be a good game to watch where tactics may make it very boring or very exciting...we have yet to see pumas recovering when going down on the scoreboard this season...

...i think if the ball is well distributed among leandro, scocco, and pareja, we could have more scoring opportunities up front...i am confident we could manage to win this one if we connect our midfield well with our forwards, thing i see functioning better as we play more...if we are up ahead on the scoreboard, i believe tuca should not speculate, put a lot of people on the middle and leave a lonely forward just in case of a counter...we can manage to defend the lead...

...vamos pumas!!!...

Ha, hopefully by returning to CU that curse will return with him.

So were dangerous all over the park, if PUMAS wants to beat us they have to control the midfield.
And it shall be done. I'm confident Leandro and Scocco can do just that. Although I hope the retard running things doesn't take him out at the half again

Yeah, I wasn't over excited by that decision either... and of couse Sancho is back and (although Diego had a good game) if he, Leandro and Scocco all have decent games and link together well........ well, we will be pretty hard to beat...

Diego looked pretty solid. And of course I'm not all excited about having Sancho on the team. It just seems like Ferretti isn't giving some of the kids a shot. Morales and some of the other kids have been appearing sporadically on the field. Seems pretty awkward, then again, look whos running things

I agree, Morales should be starting pretty much every game now. End of story.

Looks like a team you would expect:- Bernal, Castro, Palacios, Veron, Velarde, Sancho, Leandro, Parejita, Scocco, Gonzalez and Reinaldo.

I knew they were a bit of a bogey team, but have seen the figures since the short leagues today... bad reading:-
Pld 22, Won 3, Drawn 5, lost 14, GF 23, GA 47
Am feeling very unconfident at the moment, I hope I am wrong..

...however i am confident we will not lose today...it seems tolo is expecting pumas to make a move, so we are looking at a pumas victory or a draw...sucks leandro left, but maybe scocco will do his job, i dont see anyone else (in this team on the field as of half time) moving the team around...just have to watch out our def...

...post commentary from fernado "the idiot" fiore, how disrespectful in the interview with a toluca player, can't expect any more from this dumbazz...
"...como es posible que con efrain estan fueron todas las muchachas y contigo no vienen NI LOS PERRITOS DE CU..."

...this moment was brougth to you by the ALWAYS BRILLIANT participation of PRESIDENT OF CRAP fiore and its crew...way to go...

...on other notes, i liked how we were able to mantain a cero against this team, even though leandro was out early in the game but i am worried about our offense...our defense is looking solid and the game was meant to be boring since tolo like to play like that and tuca was not gonna risk losing points against a group team...

...i guess smart tactically on both teams, given the circumstances...but of course as pumas fan you still want your team win at home...:(

Their defense was very solid as chris2787 had promised us, but so was ours, I found it a fascinating game, Scocco looking better all the time... well you know my (hopelessly inaccurate) prediction, so 0-0 was not so disappointing. As you say I always want to see them win, but we drew their sting very effectively, even if we were playing quite a defensive formation. What I was happy to see was Marioni's scoring streak come to an end... as I mentioned earlier, he can't score at CU!

Another big crowd.. will write more tomorrow when I have time....

I did not get to see the game because I was traveling. But I am glad to see that pumas earned a point against a very tough opponent. I know these next two years are going to be tough because of the decenso, but on the bright side, it is making the team fight a lot harder.
