It's back. And this year Bayern are on a mission to prove that they are still a big name in the competition.

This year Bayern are in the second seed so this means we will play one of the big boys of the first seed.

I would like to face one of these teams:

1)Real Madrid
2)Man Utd
3)Arsenal

It doesn't really matter if you are in Pot 1 or 2, it's not like Juve wasn't a "big boy" in the last 2 years. You have to beat the Pot 3 and 4 teams to get the necessary points.

as much as I'd like to take on the giants, much luck is needed to win the competition alone, because giants will be faced eventually once the knockout stages come around. of the seeded clubs I'd hope for a Valencia, Lyon or ManU. of the soo far 3rd pot clubs I'd like to see us not draw Werder or Hamburg so they can have possible CL success on their own so I'd like a Olympiakos or Anderlecht. whomever from the 4th pot I really don't care.

Also, I'd be careful what you wish for because Real and ManU are top seeds so we could possibly get one of them and Arsenal from pot 3, which would be insane. yes i like challenges, but a nice easy group could help our cause. if we win group it would give us a more likely chance to move on to round of 8 because if we win group then we'd get a 2nd spot team from the group stages. there will definitely be great clubs left for the semis and final so don't be worried they won't be around that late. we just need to try and avoid them until the spring time.

Mike teams from the same country can't play eachother in the group stage.

Pfft....at this stage, I wouldn't take comfort in drawing any of those teams because we could lose to just about every team taking part in the CL this season.

I still remember my professor in Austria making fun of me when I wore my Bayern shirt in the fall of 2002 :(

I don't want that to happen again!

I'm willing to bet Bayern won't make it out of the group stage and Ballack will be laughing all the way to the final...

well I thought Bayern might of wanted to take on Chelsea in the CL, but it looks like there is another club in the Bundesliga that has more reason to want it more. I like how outspoken Doll is, its giving life to the Bundesliga other than the p!ssed off coments Uli has been making lately.

Doll wants Boulahrouz return
"Chelsea would be a great draw. I'm sure Khalid Boulahrouz would love a return trip to the AOL Arena," Doll told Hamburg's official website.

Bayern can't play Chelsea in the group stage, they're in the same pot if that's what you meant.

Yeah, Rummenigge did a goof and said that we'll draw a "Barcelona, Milan or Chelsea".

that and the fact that before the seedings many wanted to send Ballack home in the CL since thats why he left supposedly.

I'm willing to bet Bayern will make it out of the group and that Chelsea wont get past the semi's. Middlesboro 2-1 Chelsea is all i have to say. Bayern will probably get 2nd place in the group, get past the first round of the knockout stages then get knocked out,it all depends on the luck of the draw though

Owen will be playing at OT this season. :p

Bring it on. It's been far too long since we last locked horns.

I think Bayern is in such bad shape that even Manchester is a team that I wouldn't want to meet in the CL....

And don't worry about Hargreaves, you guys will have him when he's 29.

they can have him when hes 26, imo...
one year from now, we can let him go cos we would have had time to plan alternatively...

we'll probably get about 8mn pounds for him then, which is still good money...

reach into the coffers and sign a better player, and i dont mean a utility man - we need quality, not quantity...
magath better start implementing a plan this season, or at least have a vision for the kind of football hed like his team to play - and buy/groom accordingly...

enough of playing schweini at lb 'cos he can', ottl all over the place and brazzo anywhere from second striker to left back!!!

3 wingers, 2 central mids, 2 defensive mids, 4 forwards, 4 central defenders and 3 fullbacks - all of whom are specialists in their position - are the bloody minimum we need if we want to start challenging in europe...

sorry, off topic i know but felix is slowly proving himself to be a limited manager and we aint going anywhere in europe with him!

i really hope we get a favourable draw as we need to save face by getting into the round of 16 again!

PS - how the hell are valencia seeded in the first pot?
