Guys we can win this group if we play our cards right.
I saw Inter vs Roma in the Uefa Cup and I must say their deffence looks pretty weak.
Plus we have the Allianz Arena. :)

that's OK for Bayern...
Considering our luck with Italian teams as of late, I wouldn't say as much.

I don't think we can depend on the Arena THAT much. Firstly, many players have already played in it, so the 'surprise' is a bit gone, and secondly the enthusiasm regarding the new stadium will not be the same as the first season... though yes, i still think it will give us a good boost, but i'd say not as much as last year. In fact we've already drawn against Nuremberg in it...

It's the fans that matters more than the Stadium.
We have decent records against Italian teams at home. Just don't play stupid and hope the referee will not be another nut like the one in the Milan match last season. So Inter is a beatable team. It will be the match at San Siro that'll stir a concern.

Bayern will have to draw 2 awya games with sparta and Lisbon to go throuhg.
bayern vs inter- bayern may get 1 point form the 2 games
but they will go through
bremen will be beaten 5-1 by barcelona, 9-1 by chelsea. they will go on and play well in uefa cup
hsv will draw most of he mtches and will qualify as leaders of the grouppie

I think that is pretty much spot on on what we have been discussing around here:
However, 'Prinz Poldi' - as he is known in Germany - still has much to learn. As he showed in Germany's World Cup semi-final loss to Italy, his finishing can be wayward and for long periods of last season his form for Koln was patchy. Bayern will be looking to polish this raw diamond.
and
Michael Ballack's decision to leave for Chelsea has left the Bavarians with a huge void in midfield. Strangely, the club's management opted to look in-house for a replacement and there has to be a doubt as to whether the Paraguayans Roque Santa Cruz or Julio Dos Santos, the Iranian Ali Karimi or Bastian Schweinsteiger can emulate Ballack's eye for goal and creativity.

Fortunate to be seeded thanks to the Italian match-fixing scandal, they will not have been delighted to pull Bayern Munich out of the brandy bowl at the draw in Monaco. With so many new faces taking time to settle, they may struggle to top Group B, but Inter will qualify for the knock-out phase with comfort.
This says it all, although I have no doubt, that Inter will top the group. Bayern and Inter should have an easy time...

I only read the Bayern part so far, which is mostly ok but at the end there are several things that annoy me
Bayern is not dubbed FC Hollywood for nothing.
How long will it take for them to realize that the FC Hollywood is history
New Dutch defensive midfield signing Mark van Bommel is renowned for being an awkward character,
awkward character? Where is the proof?
while Owen Hargreaves is bound to be unhappy after his move to Manchester United was vetoed,
unhappy or not, he can't afford not showing his class and quality, therefore the argument is more a fairy tale
so dressing room disharmony may be an issue this season.
at least he writes a "may"
Verdict: A place in the quarter-finals is almost a given, but the lack of a top quality number ten could prevent any further progress.
as if Ballack was a number 10

Thanks DF, I almost forgot this one. Ballack's eye for creativity? What did the author smoke?

Um.....I don't think so...I think this will be one of the tightest groups in the competition and we'll definetly have a hard time getting out.

we are definitely not FC Hollywood anymore. also, as much as many think that we will finish second I think that we can actually win this group. i felt this year that if we drew a pretty decent draw that we could actually go quite far because if we win the group we'd face possibly one of the non-super clubs that would finish second in their group. so then we could actually make it to the final 8, and then everything is thrown out the window and luck and team chemistry come into play (even though probably by then a lot of the big clubs will still have much more talent, but look at Villareal and Arsenal).
