What do Newcastle fans think about all the moves Glenn Roeder has made with the team? As a neutral I can see major improvements in the team and I want to know if you guys agree. And do you think he will get a Central Defender instead of Boumsong and if so who would you like to see at the heart of the Black and White defence?

Eh...boumsong is gone.

We SHOULD be finally getting a striker.

Our Midfield is extremely full of talent and people competing.

I think we could of done better...but with FF...you never know.

I think his moves are great and we wont get another CB. If anything GR will bring up someone from the reserves and we can build a team the right way, instead of overpaying for useless old players.

Right now I say he's on par with Robson's last and Souey. Not filling the obvious needs with proven talent quickly.

Duff-didn't need him.

Martins-unproven.

Boumsong out-for better or worse, we still lack CB cover.

Still we need another striker, a CB and a LB.

The jury is out.

Thx,

Jay!

Why didn't Gooch dress for Standard's 1st leg champions league qualifying match (http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL/FixturesResults/Round=2356/Match=84641/Report=LU.html)? I guess we'll see if dresses for the 2nd leg (http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL/FixturesResults/Round=2356/Match=84642/Report=LU.html)today.

I would be politely suprised if he goes somewhere esle...

I will be pleasently shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, if he comes any where near Tyneside

I would personally hold JayRockers Hostage and demand that Gooch be released from the club if he is signed by the Toon.

How many English Pounds is JayRockers life worth?

I don't think I'm that much a fan of American talent that I've been touting them for NUFC.

Maybe it's JayPro you're thinking of.

I was always more the Andy Johnson (proven Premiership scorer) fan.

Onyewu, I'll take him here.

Dempsey and Ching can fuvk straight off.

Thx,

Jay!

Not yet anyway. He was injured for the 1st leg and played in the 2nd leg (which Standard lost). I also heard that he's definitely staying at Standard until January (at least).

Middlesbrough approached him again last month and he (Gooch) declined.

IMO I think the jury is still out and we still need defensive cover.

My choices:

LB
Bridge
Neil

CB
Gooch
Huth
Woody on loan deal

RB (yes I just don't trust Carr for a whole season)
Chimbonda

Martins is a much better signing than Johnson, imo.

I think a Prem-proven striker is still a priority, but it can wait until the January window. Right now we absolutely have to address the defense. A center back and a left back should be our co-top priority and I think the Huth/Bridge double swoop, if it happens, would set us pretty well until we get into January.

Woody on loan dealAre you Owen in disguise? NO WAY! He's an injury waiting to happen.

Chimbonda, on the other hand, can play right or centerback. But do we want to replace one dodgy French benchrider for another?

Thx,

Jay!

Ha Ha you made me laugh out loud. Hell take him on loan and only pay half his wages and if he can prove he's healthy than offer him a pay as you play contract at the end of the season. A cheap solution with for very little cash.
Woodgate coming home on loan to revive career

The Guardian

Real Madrid's central defender Jonathan Woodgate has agreed to a loan move back to the Premiership, with Middlesbrough expected to secure his services. Madrid officials have met Woodgate and informed him that they are looking to loan him out for a season so that he can prove his fitness after making only nine league appearances since joining from Newcastle United for £13.4m in August 2004.
I'm a ********ing genuis!! :D

Chimbonda combining with Milner/Solano going forward would present a lot of problems for opposing defenses. I would also say it would limit teams offensive probes down the left wing for fear of the quick counter. He's a good little player that plays with fire and explosive pace and much more heart imo the Boumsong.

I would also like to see Chimbonda for sure. I really would have loved to see us go after a guy who can play everywhere in the back like Boularouhz. Damn Chelsea!

Duff A- Great player always wanted him in the strip but it didn't
address a need

Martins A Great signing and it addressed at a need

Rossi B Good young player although just a stopgap measure till
Januery.

Sibereski F Awful, horrible, smells of desperation

Bernard C- An old favorite comes back on a free but was he the back
up plan for Bridge?
