--Hello? FIFA? I need a restraining order. They won't stop calling and I want him to stay where he is. Bad joke aside, Bayern either a) really wants Owen Hargreaves to stay, or b) wants to get every last Euro from Manchester United for the midfielder. Only a week and a half more before the transfer window ends and this stuff mostly goes out of the news...until January.

--Quick turnaround for four teams in the Premiership today; Spurs try to get off the schneid against Sheffield United (http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=411403&cpid=8&fxid=298684), while one of the 10,000 London derbies this season has Watford facing West Ham. --The awkward dance between Chelsea and Arsenal continues. (http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,,-6030650,00.html) In the end, Cole and Gallas will swap teams and some money will change hands. Probably would be easier if life was Football Manager in this case.

--Rafa Benitez didn't seem too thrilled to be grilled by Israeli reporters (http://football.guardian.co.uk/championsleague200607/story/0,,1855675,00.html) on why Liverpool wanted out of playing in Israeli--the second leg sees Maccabi Haifa down 2-1 in its "home" leg. Here is UEFA's overall look at today's Champions League action. (http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL/news/Kind=1/newsId=447074.html)

--It's a bad day when perhaps the most disgraced club on the planet wants no part of you. (http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug22f.html) Maybe New York will....

--Ives Galarcep with a good reheating of the aforementioned Red Bulls' many problems... I'd like to see Vieri do a reality show on the many "irregularities" in Italian football. That could be very interesting.

I sure don't envy Red Bulls fans, but I suspect The Bruce will turn things around by this time next year.
