Can't be a Premier forum without a pre-match chatter thread!
How do our boys line up against AV? Predictions? How to watch/listen to the match?

A team with two Yanks versus a team owned by a Yank. Maybe EPL fans will believe Americans have something to contribute to soccer ... Nah!:D
If Reading can play again like they did for the last 60 minutes last week, I think it will be 3-2 again, but the home side wins.

With Villa comming off a strong defensive performance against the Gunners on Saturday, we should be happy to walk out of Villa park with a draw.

I dunno, villa's home opener, martin O'n's first home match as manager. A road game, to top it off (not sold out, though) after a great comeback win, and against a team that just took road points from arsenal. Kitson is hurt. Reading had backline problems and haven't had time to work on them...
Reading 6-0.

Perhaps the boys can ride the wave of that 1-0 victory from the 1912 FA Cup. :)

I am not too optimistic over this one I am afraid. I am going for Villa to win it 2-1. I would be ecstatic with a draw.
Kitson being out will make a big difference to the team, his creativity will be replaced with Lita's who is more your goal poacher. Doyle is going to have to hang back a little to link up play (which in fairness he did brilliantly on Saturday) and Sidwell is going to have to get forward a lot.

I have to agree, I think a tie would be a great result and am also expecting a loss. I know Henry wasn't fully fit, and it wasn't their best game, but Villa was able to hold Arsenal to a tie at the Grove and only allowed a single goal. If Villa get an early lead, I'd be surprised if the match ended anything but 1-0,
especially with Kitson out. This was the match where I was expecting a loss in the "first five" thread.

If the back line holds tight and Hahnemann plays up to his capabilities, I think we've got a good chance of walking away with a point.

As me Koreans like to say with a fist thwarted towards the blue sky.... "FIIIGHTING!!!!!"
Last weekend was absolutely awe-inspiring. I hope to see more of this fighting spirit against a tough Villa. I think a draw or even a one nil victory is entirely possible with a team as full of heard as Reading is.

I don't think this game is being shown on FSC. Anyone know of a way to watch/listen?

As much as Im grateful for FSC, they can suck sometimes. I looked on their scheduling and all I saw were a bunch of TBAs. Bunch of Mulletts....

QS.IV on PPStream will show the match at 1700 Eastern time (2200 in England, 1600 here), which will be soon after the match ends. So if you can avoid the score until then (which shouldn't be hard), you can watch it.

That link should direct you to the right channel after you've downloaded PPStream. (just google PPStream and look for somewhere to download it)
Thats the only way I know of right now to watch the match. I don't think any television stations will show it either live or on delay in the US.

New Reading fan here....have followed the past 2 years when Convey joined the team from my home team (DC United). Really enjoyed listening to games last year. Had a free radio link, but a computer issue has lost it for me. Anyone have a free link?
Also, who will Convey be matched up against on the wing in this game? I'm looking forward to how he is handled, and how he handles the wing each game against the variety of awesome wingers and outside backs in the Premiership. He truely is playing with great confidence and poise these days, but the EPL can make anyone second guess their ability.

The only mid week match I see listed is Chelsea v Boro. Why would they only run that match? I'm confused. Are they only allowed to show one of the mid week matches?

Someone last year would post a link that was a mirror of the reading website that would allow us to watch games or at least listen to them. Is that person around and willing to do this again this year?

The Reading boys need to continue that inspiring scrappy, no-quitting, get-goals-anyway-you-can type of play against a good defense.
