I'm assuming since this is for the opening it's for anyone (and while you're there the GG folks will try to sell you a membership).

Maybe it was a remodeling or summat; I never paid much attention myself. I just saw the construction of the Caps' new facility for the first time the other day.

You haven't been to Clarendon in a while I see. The old Golds Gym has been gone for 3-4 years or so. The entire area has been redeveloped and it looks like a Yuppie Disneyland now. You'll be shocked.
This Golds Gym took the space in the Market Commons shopping center (one block down the hill from the old Golds) after Washington Sports Clubs moved out. I guess WSC couldn't handle the cost of leasing retail space there.

Wow!! I must be getting long in the tooth. I never recall health clubs (or is it fitness centers these days) resembling a cross between Division I weight rooms and NASA astronaut training facilities.
So many beautiful people... so many whirring machines...
Well, they certainly chose their location well as there are probably a zillion twenty-somethings about to move into the area just waiting to crunch their abs.
