Yeah, he should have manned up and sat his ass on the bench while his coach sullied his name.
I don't think it was a bad move and hoping to see him in the Club World Cup.

I know that game.
I smell a closet homosexual obsessive compulsive stalker.
That team might not be the most respected.
But, its paying him more than he would get just about anywhere else.
Even MLS are starting to be tightwads with their money and would probably not pay him close to whatever he's getting.
This is all of course. Hypothetically speaking since I have no clue what he's getting.
Maybe I should RTFA.

i quote a couple of your posts and i'm a stalker?
anyway, mls has salary cap and the contracts are negotiated by mls. not a very good option money wise for borgetti.
al ittihad is (hence, the florida of club soccer.)

MLS has a soft salary cap. They don't always follow it.
What I was referring to was the possibility of him getting Matador type money, which my understanding is it was not performance based, just to show up.

That looks like sound advice to me.
What exactly is your complaint?
Btw, what do you mean with "Florida of Soccer"? I'm ignorant to that phrase.

He could have gone to Racing de Santander which will have kept him at a high level or he could have gone to Mexico, which will have been a level down but still at a good level for future call ups. Instead he goes to a garbage league in a country that is going to be a huge culture shock for the easy level and money. His agent said something about so he coud win a goal scoring competition. Big deal a saudi goal scoring championship  And the World Club cup? Yeah so he will play some african team and then get bounced out by Internacional de Porto Alegre and maybe play America in the 3rd place game. Yeah that's awesome. To me is a dumb move since I don't think Jared was washed up but he will be now.

sorry to offend your noobness.
florida = where old people retire
rich middle eastern leagues = where soccer players go to retire.

The culture shock is why I thought he didn't puss out.
Racing Santander and Bolton Wanderers never came to an agreement though. La Liga season is starting this week. So if he didn't agree to the ittihad deal. He'd be sitting on the bench another season.

I see your point now.
However, I disagree as far as how much he will contribute to the Mexican National Team. The dude is 32 already.

I know I’ll get some flack, but I think it was a good move on his part. He’s old, probably past his prime, why not be on a championship team and make some money. He’s still overseas and will hopefully play more minutes. In the end, his experience can be a useful tool to the younger players.

He should not be part of El Tri the next four years.
Old and is not getting any better.
I say good move, cash in while you can.
And then return to Mexico and end your career.
The man is the all time leading scorer for El Tri.
He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.

I agree, but can you really blame Borgetti, can we say with certainty that Borgetti turned down Racing de Santander, or any MFL club for that matter. All i know is that Big Sam didnt have the Borg in his plans anymore and Al Ittihad gave him and Bolton the best offer.
Now, for Borgs age 32/33 perhaps it is better that he pockets some hard cash before hanging his boots. He allready accomplished alot, two world cups, played in england ect.

I don't think he now what he is for in Saudi Arabia personally. If he knew, he probably would have chosen Qatar or some other country. And the excuse of going to win a goal scoring title in Saudiland, is to me the prove that rather than a challenge, he went for the easy and pussed out. I don't think he did as bad as Bolton when given the chance and still had the chance to contribute espcially to a MFL club.

The Arabian leagues are the last stop not the MFL. The MFL is better so once he gets used to those leagues he will not be able to rise to it.

He had said no to the Al Ittihad team and he probably could have tried. He could have gone to those leagues and had the same impact and at least been able to give his last productive years instead of going earlier to a place where I don't think he is as knowing of what he will face.

He might not be able to rise to that level anymore because of his age not because he will get accustomed to the Arabian league.
Being able to get free of your marker and finishing is Borgetti's specialty.
All he needs to do is play. That is the only thing that can really affect his play. Not having any rhythm. As we saw in Bolton.
His last stop will be the MFL.
