Good article on one of the oft overlooked players on the team.

Great article! I Agree 100%! His offense does need some fine tuning but as my old man would say its like he has 3 lungs! His work rate is incredible!

What if you need a player to get forward and whip in some crosses? He can do that, and from either wing yet.
Clearly this is where the "E" (for entertainment) in ESPN comes from.

Hey, they never specified WHERE the whipped in crosses ended up. :p

That's true. The writer uses the word "whip" which although is usually meant for a swift, lower cross is also probably the feeling that the people in row 10 get when the ball smacks them in the face.

He's crossing to his invisible 8-foot friend. Shhhhhh. Don't give it away.

Actually, the "E" is for "Every" (no, seriously!)...althought the entertainment thing does have the ring of truthiness to it! ;)

I was under the impression that ESPN stood for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.

Well I'll be...you are correct sir...thought they came up with that after the initial "Every Sports Persons Network" thing...guess I've been urban mythologized...but the truthiness of the matter is that for me, it will always stand for Every, because most of the time, I'm not very entertained.
(Apparently, it officially no longer stands for anything, but it did stand for Entertainment.)
I'd offer a retraction, but that's a sign of weakness, so instead I'd like to point out that Thamlin is weak on defense, and if you agree with him, you're giving aid and comfort to the terrorists.

This is sad but most likely true. Especially the last part.
I always like to tell people about what the "E" initially stood for when they complain about poker and other stuff being shown on the network. After all, entertainment was before sports in their acronym.

It took them 553 words to mention the unmentionable :)
Thx,

Never met the guy. Emailed back and forth a few times, but that never came up.
In other news, Mason just wrapped up an undefeated preseason and managed six goals over three games. Not bad for a team that got shut out in way too many games last season. Hopefully they can keep it up this year on offense and get contributions from their youth national team freshman and high school All-American freshman goalie who are both rated as top 100 freshman in college soccer.
