Can someone tell me, (a 'yoof' probably ;)), if it's possible to pretend to be someone on myspace? Isn't that like 'passing off', i.e. where people grab the websites of large companies and pretend to be them online?
For example, could I pretend to be 'The Who' online using myspace? Not that I'm going to do it, you understand. I'm just trying to check without having to register and fill in all the forms.
Also... if you want can you add people as your 'friends' without them knowing about it?
TA muchly!

Absolutely. It's actually quite simple.

Dunno - I don't know enough about Myspace. I suspect not.

:D Good one!
My nephew's in a band and some of their 'friends' are well known people. I'm just trying to get an idea if it's actually them or some nutter.
I'm pretty certain that one or two of them are the people they say they are, (or a close relation, anyway :)), but others I'm not so sure abouit.

I'm pretty certain that one or two of them are the people they say they are, (or a close relation, anyway :)), but others I'm not so sure abouit.Musicians usually have "official" Myspace profiles, and they almost always approve friend requests, since they're using Myspace to market themselves. Famous people tend to have tens of thousands of "friends".
But I'm pretty sure my friend Scott Baio isn't the real thing.

An explanation not helped by the fact that I have no idea who Scott Baio is... ;)
Anyway, cheers mate.
