I say we start
------Makaay------Pizarro
Schweini--------------------Brazzo
----------Hargreaves-----Demi---------
Lahm-----Lucio----Van Buyten-----Sagnol
-------Kahn----
My prediction is a 1-1 draw with makaay scoring

Roy scored 6 in the first 3 games last year... then he went AWOL for the rest of the season. :D Nürnberg is doing good right now, they have an excellent coach (if he wasn't that old he should be coaching the national team.). But it's a home game, so I guess Bayern sneaks out another unimpressive win, Nürnberg is not a side to shine against right now.

Well he got injured and was out...then, he never regained his form

He was out for ONE game. Nothing life threatening, nothing that explains such a drop off.

That's when his drought started. And though not "Life" threatening, a knee sprain will affect your game.

Is Vittek fit for the match? Anyone knows?

Nurnberg haven't beaten us in such a long time at home, I can't even remember the last time they did beat us.....last was in 99 but that was away so history wise it is looking good.
However, Nurnberg in my opinion, is the team to watch this season....very solid tight team with players who can score goals. Anyone remember how everyone was linking Makaay to Mueller's record after his first three games last season? That was some hype if I've ever seen some.
Anyways, this is going to be harder than our first two games....I hope Hargreaves plays and either Piza or Poldi start over SC.....for our sake!

i'm not quite sure if thats the brightest thing right now especially with his fallout with Uli. this is a much more important match than one would seem about a month ago. Nuremburg is showing that they want to do some damage this year and possibly play in Europe soon

I finally had some time to watch the highlights against Bochum. Santa Cruz was pratically non-existent. He wasn't mentioned a single time, I liked what I saw from the few minutes Podolski was in. I think Podolski or Pizarro should be allowed to be paired up with Makaay this match. Brazzo looked strong on the right side which is good that he can still handle it with him starting to get up there in age.

Hi-lite doesn't tell much. Roque has several chances to shoot and a great assist to Brazzo in the box but all were blown away by inadequate executions. His header was blocked by an extended defender's arm but no penalty was given.
Anyway, it's about time to try out another combination at the front.

some news that should help us against Nuremburg. When Vittek was playing for Slovakia against Malta he picked up an injury and should be out for about 6 weeks. so that should hurt them a little.
Bundesliga leaders suffer blow
"An examination by club doctors revealed the extent of ligament damage that will keep him sidelined until the end of September at the earliest..."

I'm going to try suggesting a formation I like, and one that would possibly work against Nuremberg
---------------------------Kahn---------------------------------
--------------Lucio--------------------Van Buyten---------------
-------------------------Demichelis-----------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Karimi---------------------------------
--Sagnol---------------------------------------------Lahm-------
-------------------------Scholl---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Pizarro--------------------------------
-----------------Makaay---------Podolski------------------------
As you see it's a bit different from what we usually see. Sagnol and Lahm play more offensively. Demichelis is JUST in front of the defence. Karimi backs him up and helps Scholl on the creative side to feed the 3 strikers. Pizarro plays a bit back and wins those loose balls he usually likes to win, and feeds them to Makaay and Podolski to blast them in. Sagnol and Lahm will do a lot of running between defending and attacking, that's why in the 2nd half they can be replaced by Salihamidzic (who LOVES to run) and Schweinsteiger.

not a realistic formation in first place with Pizarro as attackin mid or centre forward, let alone realistic enough for Magath to use. by the way, what the heck are Sagnol and Lahm doin in your lineup? it looks like they are playing grab-a$$ off to the side :p

Hahaha... increase your resolution and maximise the window and you'll see the formation properly. I made the text a bit too wide, so on low resolutions the text will wrap over to the next line, which makes it seem as if Lahm and Sagnol are playing on the same side.
