Am I reading correctly that we're playing a 3-6-1 with Crouch the only forward dressed for the match and Gerrard on the bench?!? What gives? Thoughts?

If it works will you complain? I have to say Rafa's formations recently do seem rather confusing as does his squad selection.

I think he's taking football games too seriously http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnMnZyV1QR8 :D

Do you think your poor pre-season is having a slight affect on your performances?

Oh Alonso hit a beauty, but it just flew wide. Quite unlucky, you could of done with that sailing in.

I'm reading it as 4-4-1-1.
Back: Finnan, Agger, Hyypia, Warnock
Mid: Pennant, Sissoko, Alonso, Gonzalez
Withdrawn Striker: Garcia
Striker: Crouch

Just answered my own question as to why Gerrard isn't starting, but why not at least dress Bellamy or Fowler?

Gerrard has been struck down with illness according to ITV.

Luis Garcia squandered another chance, mind it was a sitter, if he was 30 yards out, I'm sure he would of scored. :D

Aren't they both on the bench?

Subs - Dudek, Kromkamp, Gerrard, Fowler, Aurelio, Bellamy, Zenden.

Good news, Sissoko and Alonso are bossing midfield, you're creating chances, a goal should come.

Katan is giving Warnock a few problems.

Blimey, you lot are lucky, poor defending on a set piece, luckily Katan was offside. That could of been you lot 1-0 down and steering at a £10m loss.

You look dodgy from set pieces, you're definitely gonna miss Carragher.

Garcia missed another sitter, sorry but how can anyone rate him? He can't score the simplest of chances.

I doubt it, they'd be thousands of complaints if that kind of language was being used. :D

He can be aggravating, but he's scored a couple of the most memorable goals in this club's history, so we do have a certain affection for him. :)
