Didn't see a thread about it, so I guess I'll start:

2-0 Wanderers on a Davies header that should've been called back and wonder strike and an act of god by Campo.

Bolton was content with the two goal lead and then defended the majority of the final 75 minutes.

Diouf was very good at holding the ball on the wing, drawing fouls, and generally making defenders look silly.

Back four held pretty well; Ben-Haim had some incredible blocks, Meite was pretty solid, and Fortune seemed comfortable at left back

Nolan didn't have his best game, but he didn't need to as Tottenham seemed like they were out of ideas to beat 10 men behind the ball.

I'm glad we got the win, but we can't count on 45 yard strikes to get leads and then just defend all the time. A very good result regardless.

Nope, if anything it should have been a penalty. Berbatov was holding Meite who then went on to hold Davenport(?), quick thinking from the new lad.

Bolton was content with the two goal lead and then defended the majority of the final 75 minutes.

And yet we still had the best opportunities.

He looks a bit off the pace, something that's not uncommon with players of his physique early in the season.

If we can continute to defend like that then I'll take all the 1-0s you can give me, we were solid and Spurs couldn't break us down. It was a surprising result but I wonder what will happen when we get a few more injuries.

Given the way the Trotters played during the preseason, I'd have to say I was pleasantly surprised by their result yesterday. When I first saw the fixture list, I essentially had only hopes of a draw against Spurs. Perhaps Spurs were feeling the loss of overpriced Carrick.

Always the optimist :)

I'm interested to see how we play after getting some players back from injuries and hopefully a new striker. Hasselink would be nice from PSV.

To right, but spurs have for some reason aways (about 5-6 years now) been a team like pren says that just cant break us down, always supprises me though. Good confidence boost and yer im looking forward to pulling in a new striker hopefully this week although the injury situation is worrying as we do have a few guys out already, only had to look at the bench to see we have squad problems, not to many options for tatical changes.

Totally agree with the Meite thing, he was being held back, he held back and prevented davenport, who couldnt quite reach from holding davies back. Thought it was a good start to the season to see once again the only thing being said on match of the day about the game being that our first goal shouldnt have stood, ah another season of people ripping into bolton about everything.

Im looking foward to someone trying to beet last seasons best "I dont like bolton because...." comment, were looking for something to beat "I dont like bolton because of there wage structure".

I cant wait to hear the first Moriniho and Wenger comments, although Jols was fairly good getting in the "pitch", "cold" and "physical" comments.

Time to take a deap breath and get ready to bouch some of the bull thats gonna be heading our way, good luck lads.

Seems like the latest gossip has Anelka heading to the 'Bok. Anyone else not convinced that this is the answer? He should get along very well with Diouf.

Good start.
The win never looked in doubt.
My only complaint is that my seat was a bit on the mucky side and they still insist on employing morons to serve the half time beers.

I think it would be a very risky signing especially given that the fee is supposed to be around £9 million.

OTOH I don't think he has any intention of coming to Bolton and is simply making the bid known so that it forces the hand of other parties.

Saw the match on FSC. Nice win for Bolton. Diouf looked strong all game and had a ton of joy down the flank.

There's been other money supposedly put forward by Bolton, no? Wasn't there a £8.5 million or so bid for Johnson? It seems like they have more than other years. Very talented player, I think Big Sam could do wonders for him.

Btw, is that Faye player still at Bolton?

He is, he picked up a pre-season injury.
