Is anyone else going to Buzzfest? It looks like a really good line-up, even though I've only seen Breaking Benjamin and Evans Blue live. Which bands would you recommend for me to see that play really good music (aside from Alice in Chains who kick ass)?

What? Layne is dead so therefore Alice in Chains will always be.

Not my type of bands. If Everclear plays "Father of Mine" sing it for me as grade school nostalgia.

I must be really out of the loop these days because the only band of those that I've heard of is Alice in Chains. Are these pop bands mainly or more like alternative or grunge?

Did you catch them (BB) at the sidestage? That has got to be the best time I've had at Buzzfest along with Mudvayne on the main stage.

To be honest, most of the bands on the side stage I have heard mentioned but have not heard their music. The bands on the main stage are fairly new except for Alice in Chains and Everclear. I guess they can be classified as semi-popular/alternative with some metal included in Avenged Sevenfold and Stone Sour (which has some members, including the singer, of the popular metal band Slipknot). They all have their own sounds so all in all I think they could be classified as alternative to what is considered pop music.

will do...

No it must have been their first year on the main stage. Lostprophets was on the side stage and they were excellent.

I saw Alice in Chains back in early 1990 at the After Dark Club on Magnum across from Delmar Stadium. Smoked cigarettes and drank beers with Layne Staley the entire night. Pretty good story...ask me next time you see me. He was HIGHHHHHHH.

Losprophets is the band to make sure not to miss. They are freakin awesome live. Evans Blue I haven't seen live, but their CD is pretty good. I would personally like to see LP headline, but that's just me...

Avenged Sevenfold was here with System of a Down and rocked the Pavillion. They are part of the alternative crowd and the cover of Pantera's "Walk" they did was incredible. A great band worth seeing. Their newest CD is fun to listen to.

Breaking Benjamin is that Alternative/Post-Grunge crowd (Smile Empty Soul is another good example) and they put on a hella show, though like Avenged, they are more fun in a mosh pit. Nothing like jamming to their music while jamming your hand into some poor guy's back...hehehe.

Alice in Chains....eh...I thought they died a long time ago. I might stick around for them just so I can say I've seen them. Everclear will be fun to see and bring back fond memories. Everyone on the side stage is pure Emo through and through.
