Alemannia Aachen 0 - 1 Schalke
Borussia Dortmund 1 - 1 Mainz
Eintracht Frankfurt 0 - 0 Wolfsburg
Energie Cottbus 2 - 2 Hamburger SV
Hertha BSC 4 - 0 Hannover
Werder Bremen 2 - 1 Bayer Leverkusen
It's good for Bayern that Hamburg dropped points :)
To note that Schalke won playing most of the match with 10 men

diego and almeida for bremen kicked buttocks. those were some awesome transfers they made for relatively cheap money. diego made both assists and almeida scored after he was subbed in.

Thanks for the update.
Hamburg have dropped 4 points in 2 matches. They may have their uefa cup matches in mind just several days away in Spain.
What makes the race more difficult is Leverkusen may emerge as a contender of the title.

It is shocking. Just the sort of player Bayern has needed for several years. Not to be dramatic but I think we are the Sick Man of Europe at the moment. A major shake-up is needed.

What Bayern really needs is to get their exclusive TV deal which would generate at least an extra 50 million euros a season (perhaps even more). Then they need to stop being the misers of Europe with their spending. Other clubs are investing more money. When you look at the estimates of the incomes of clubs, Bayern is always amongst the top 5 clubs. When you look at the list of how much money clubs are paying in transfer fees, I wonder if it puts us in the top 20...

Hmm I still think the guys at Bayern don't want to lose their well paid jobs so something could be done before the winter break.

This is the real meat! And Bayern has been complaining a welfare state approach taken by Dfb to the money coming from TV rights.

At this rate, Bayern will continue to dominate the Bundesliga. If they want to make the Bundesliga competitve and do well in Europe, then they need to allow this. If Bayern does well in Europe, I believe the whole Bundesliga will benefit. For example, the league will get more prestige and players would be more likely to join Bundesliga clubs.

We are already the enemy #1 in Bundesliga. Further mentioning the bigger sharing of TV rights will probably get us into a complete isolation from the rest of the league ... shouting the italian team in Southern Germany!!!

I think Leverkusen already has made their statement as contender before this match.

this is absolute ridiculous. can you imagine the uprising if Bayern were to be favored and given more money by the DFB!!! not a tv company, but the DFB!

yup, i can't imagine the DFB giving more money to Bayern and playing favorites. if we got more money from the DFB that means other clubs are being shafted. Just as the league is starting that upwards climb to becoming strong again, this idea would kill everything. Werder is the constant contender as well with Schalke. Leverkusen and Stuttgart are always potentially capable of shooting up there, and Dortmund are rebuilding with Hertha trying to figure out what they need to completely do. If some of these clubs lose out on money that will weaken them, plus if we get more money just so we can compete in europe, just think of all that surplus talent we'd have compared to the other bundesliga clubs so we'd make the bundesliga even worse. its just a bad situation they brought up

I never said that. An exclusive deal means that you privately sell your TV rights, which is what the top clubs are doing, like Juventus, Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United etc.
It might mean even more money for the other clubs this way as well.

No problem. Mind you, if I'm not mistaken that's what they do in some countries... they give more TV rights money to the higher placed teams.
I believe the priority of the DFB at the moment should be tackling the decline of the German clubs' power in Europe. German clubs haven't done well in the Champions League since Leverkusen lost in the final in 2002. Right now it seems that their priority is to make the Bundesliga more competitive in the sense of not having Bayern win week in week out. I think we're getting there. Hamburg only have 2 points from 2 matches, but I believe they'll bounce back and give us a run for our money.

Bayern doesn't need more money. It needs more competition. Right now they can comfortably win the Bundesliga and rake in spring CL revenues by not spending much on transfers and keeping payroll below their European "peers". Until the Board becomes more ambitious or until HSV & Hertha upset the applecart, expect more of the same.

I think the Bayern fans are more interested in the Champions League though, or am I terribly wrong?
