Has anybody done the research to make separate lists of these for each MLS season? I was going to but I wanted to ask here in case I'm wasting my time.
For a few years, MLS assists were super-dubious. Virtually every goal had two assists, and I remember reading how a player got an assist for a penalty kick where he hit it off the post and a teammate finished it. They've tightened the standards in recent years, but in order to more accurately compare stuff from year to year, I want to use primary assists only.
