So for sometime me and some of my friends who have been going to crew games since the beginning have been wanting to put together another supporters section in crew stadium...currently we are sitting up in the upper deck but have been trying to think of where we want to set up shop...My idea is to be a little bit further away from v-army in order to get the people in between us more into what we're about...So if a member of v-army has any suggestions please shout them out...Our idea is to collectively sing and chant songs with v-army as well as creating our own and hoping you will sing and chant ours...at the moment we are in talks but want to find a pub as a base and recruit more inner-city soccer fans...This is all in the initial stages but any input or anyone interested in this group please feel free to PM me. Thanks

Couldn't hurt to have more vocal supporters in the stadium. The best way to begin working with us in V-Army/north end is to join our tailgates. When the beers start flowin', so do the creative juices. We tailgate under the trees just south of the stadium. Come check it out.

That's fantastic that another group is interested in coming to the North End. I wasn't at the game last night (for various reasons), but what section are you guys planning to move into? I'm just curious.

With Fort Knox down at the tunnel and Legion/V-Army in 137, I think you guys should be over around 139 or so.

Actually...I'm in favour of reducing the significance in names like Legion and V-Army and just go back to Northenders. When I talk about Crew games and stuff...I just refer to everyone as my fellow Northenders.

We (Legion) were in the process of getting our own scarves, but the more I think about it, I think we should make yellow "Northender" t-shirts, banners, and scarves.

I'm not saying to abolish V-Army or Legion, but just to identify more with the terrace that we stand in. For instance, I came very close to starting this chant during the RSL match, but didn't, because I didn't think anyone would have heard it before.

Being an Arsenal fan, I naturally like it, but at the same time it's simple and is a collective thing we can all chant. It goes...

We're the North Bank, we're the North Bank, we're the North Bank Highbury (getting faster each time). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baFNflES88w

We could change ours into: We're the North End, we're the North End, we're the North End Columbus.

All I'm going for is a more unified image, where we're not so much distinguished as V-Army or Legion or Fort Knox or The New Group....I think that the fact we're all in the North End, could do that.

Thoughts?

I think people really need to evaluate what it truly means to be a supporters group before going off on off tangents. What a messy business.

You dont have a "terrace" to stand in. If you want to be a supporters' group, understand the terminalogy first Dubaibury.

I like the Unity/Chant idea.

Why can't we all just get along?

As Brook said, it is not a terrace. And i hope you aren't going to turn up in Lacoste, Burberry and Stone Island.

When was the last time you were on the North Bank singing that?

Oh and are you going to get the South End to do the other part of the call and response?

Personally, a massive group seems to be the greatest when it comes to creating atmosphere, but if it takes 20 splinter cells, then that's what it takes. Each group can identify as they wish and do their own thing, but I think, as a collective, some things can be done as a whole.

Excuse the example, but Chicago has Section 8, as an umbrella group of sorts, and then there are all the sub-groups. Unfortunately, as Chelsey stated, I can only imagine it getting very messy. It would take a tremendous amount of effort and organization to do anything collectively. And who knows if there would be conflicting efforts at times or one group drowning out another.

I have to agree with soma here.

It would take a very special kind of douchebaggery to star a chant or a song when another group of supporters was already in the middle of one.

I like splinter cells.

I don't know what raven symone likes d**k or who stole my sombrero I don't know what to wearo(this one especially annoys the shit out of me) has to do with a game against the Red Bulls.

The Duncan chants are cool though. Same with the Columbus Till I Die. I also hate that Molly O'Madigan or whatever the ******** her name is chant.

But, I could understand splinter groups. I might actually join one if they would sit like at midfield where you can actually watch a game and enjoy it. I know there's reasons why this can't happen. But I can't see shit down in the Northend anytime I sit down there. It's not like the midfield side on t.v. is packed.

Anyways best of luck to all supporters groups. Hopefully someday we can have all three sections full and be as colorful as Borussia Dortmund. It was fun when Sam's Army packed that section.

Yeah, sure, when you're right next to them. But the last time I was in 137, I don't really remember being able to hear other folks that are down by the tunnel or whereever. You have to be able to hear the other folks otherwise it's easy to be an unintentional douche.

Plus, the location and the shape of the stadium makes the sound travel away from the northend, so it's harder to hear other northenders to your far sides, as opposed to some group that might be in 128, for example.

The thing of location lies on the hands of the consumer and the front office. Does the FO really want a bunch of "rowdies" and "hoolies" or whatever they want to label the groups, sitting in a seat where the minivan fams are stationed? Then there is the part of the tickets costing more.

I agree, however, that on TV, the east corners have been really bare of late. I can't imagine that filling up 141, 142, 101, or 102 would be that disagreeable to the FO. It would come off better on TV (more minutes where the groups would be in-camera) and the sound generated would bounce within the stadium a bit better, I believe. I think 110-112 are the general areas that the F*re schmucks end up when they travel down here. Is it 112, or were they up in 113 recently (a much better location for them).

I also want to agree that getting over into the corner would provide a better view of the game for the supporters groups and might help convince people to come over. I used to always go to 137, but this year I've been sitting midfield because I just really wanted to see the games more and sit in the shade of the west stands. If 102 was taken over, I would seriously put on my sunblock and come on over.

Edit: and I think the chant is Molly Malone, the traditional Irish song.

the reason you don't hear us by the tunnel is because we don't have any chants...every once in a while we will join in on a v-army chant...and when an opposing player is taking a corner kick we do get the whole corner yelling choke...remember we are with you not against you...

Didn't take too long for this thread to start wandering. My question is why do people feel a need to start new groups? If you are sitting in the corners i can most certainly understand. But if you want to start a group and join 137 i would like to ask why a person would choose that over joining in the groups already present. I don't think either groups are adversive to newcomers, but rather we welcome them. Nothing is preventing anyone from asking to join and start being rowdy. Heck if you know the chants, no one is preventing you from helping lead. I just don't get the point of saying "We want to be in a group, let's start one" when there are groups that would love you have you join right in. Just my question. Don't let this discourage you from starting a group if that is why you really want to do, but don't be discouraged from joining in either.

I agree it's not like these are bands or something. If you want to be part of the Northend group go over introduce yourself and join in.

Personally I'm not interested in joining the crowd but after the inital battles with the old supporters calmed down they have never seemed to be particularly exclusive to me. I've always sensed a 'more the merrier' attitude.

That said, if having your own banner and name makes you happy - ok then. As a fellow fan I would like to see more people filling in the area and have more chants.

Hooray Noise.

If only we stood in the middle of the stadium.. that would solve all our supporter section woes...

I know a roof would definately make the stadium louder.

And if we all had our own supporter group of 5 people each. That would jsu tbeat all.

Or maybe a sheep would do the trick.

honestly we were not even trying to start a group, Fort Knox started last year with just three guys..we made the banner because of a player and it more or less formed into a support group....we were in no way trying to be outcasts or compete against the V-army/Legion...we can get a little rowdy in the corner but we do not try to start any chants but do join in with the v-army chants....
