Being a huge DC fan and member of La Barra Brava and living in Richmond. I'm super excited about this one. I was trying to get a feel for how many people are making the trip, being it's only 90 minutes from D.C. I live like a mile from the stadium so if anyone wants to drink up and grill before the game, hit me up. Reason being there's no alcohol allowed on the U of R stadium premises, as there is really not much parking either, I feel sorry for the residents that live literally next to the stadium. word hit me up

Like that's ever stopped us before. :D

I'll be missing this match. If this match was on a weekend I'd be there. Dang mid week away matches. :(

As fellow Richmonders my wife and I will be there. I am going to start talking up the game to co-workers. Previous efforts have failed, so this year I am going to tell them it is a World Cup match. What they don't know won't hurt them. Keep me posted Pedro at the very least we will swing by and steal some of your booze.

As much as I hate the Kicker organization(nothing against the Kroger family...I knew way too many snobby Richmond kids who went through the youth organizations), the Kicker-United games have been fun the past few years. Hopefully I won't get a speeding ticket passing through Louisa this year.

You're right. I was hungry and thinking about what I needed to get from Kroger.:)

EDIT: so hungry I forgot I went to Giant because there are no Kroger's around here.:o

Hey all,

Okay, I apologize now for the complete stupidity of this question, but here in San Diego we rarely get to see any of the DCU matches, unless we are lucky enough to have them televised on ABC, ESPN(2), Direct Kick, FSC or MLSLive.tv They don't even have HDNet here! Ouy! Anyway, I digress. Does anyone know if Comcast shows the DC games online, or if there is some other absolutely great service that offers the DCU games online? While I highly suspect not, I have to ask, because after the cup, I'm jonesin' for some quality soccer, that only our boys in the black and red can offer up.

Thanks for any info you have, and try to keep the "...you're a dumb ass..." jokes to a minimum please.

Scott!!!

Unfortunately Comcast offers nothing in the way of streaming live action on the web... the game against Colorado tomorrow, at 4PM EST will be on ESPN2 (and ESPN2-HD!), so try and watch it (tape it, DVR it) if you can.

Also, I'm not sure if you can watch the Direct Kick games a la carte or if you have to buy the season package, but if you can get the entire package, it might be pretty cheap right now since the season's more than half over.

Other than that, you're left to the MLSNetLive feeds

The game is listed on ESPN2HD but it's not being televised in HD. I will say though the picture quality is much better on the HD channel as opposed to the SD channel, at least on DirecTV.

Will there be a road trip for this one?

Not to speak for any of the supporter groups but I am guessing not. This game means zero (previous games had been part of the Open Cup) so not much motivation on a Wednesday night. That being said keep posting here and I am sure you will be able to hook up a ride with someone. Besides the drive is not that bad if you leave early enough. Richmond is not nearly as horrid as some make it out to be.

It's a meaningless game in the middle of the week, to go you have to during rush hour, unless you leave really early, meaning not working or working half day...

Seems like a lot of work for a meaningless game, yet, I find myself going.... Not sure if anyone else from La Norte is going.

I've pretty much proven to myself that I'll go anywhere to watch this team play. But a midweek friendly in Richmond? It's a tough sell for me. Having been to Chicago twice, New York, and Seattle in the last six weeks, I'm thinking I'll stay home.

That said, I'll probably hop in my truck and head down...

My school is giving away free tickets to this game and since I live in Richmond it shouldnt be a problem to go. I just need to find a way to get to UR.
