i love your dream team. i think it follows in the essence of all dream teams, ie no steel, no shape:) .
i think my team might not be an alltime team, something tells me i am not alone here in this assessment, but it has a certain flair to it.

Greatest names but who is going to defend in such a team?
I am pretty sure it would loose against any simply good but balanced team ...

This team would win by scoring 11 and allowing no goals. Pele, Ronaldo, Maradon, Cruyff, Garrincha up front??? Baresi and Maldini in the back??? OK I changed my mind, 12 goals, none allowed!

I can't make a team of people who i haven't seen in real life action(like all you seem to be doing). Simple replays won't do it for me.;)

Isn't that overkill (in terms of goalscoring power)? LOL.
EDIT: and there's Neeskens, too.

Yes, Van Nistelrooy is a sentimental pick but this team would be damn near impossible to beat. Maldini/Moore/Nesta is a great trio who can all read the game superbly - Beckenbauer/Keane/DiStefano has all the class, brains, steel and will power to overcome ANY midfield. You don't get better on the wings than Giggs and Best, Garrincha NEARLY got in there.

Not the toughest of midfields, relies on Redondo being the hard man, but its full of creativity, with Pires, Brady and Conti doing their best. Forward line has no real out-and-out striker, but I was going for more of a Totti-Cassano partnership, where two creative players play off each other. Barei and Passarella, well, we know them. Zanetti and Maldini providing width, some of the two very best.
With my subs, you would probably get a more solid team. Add Monti and De Sisti into the midfield, remove a forward, put on Batigol, and that team is pure steel.

When you're scoring 4 or 5 goals a game who needs to defend :p?
Yeah, like the "Galacticos" of Real Madrid ... who cares about Makelele, put together Roberto Carlos-Beckham-Figo-Zidane-Raul-Ronaldo and nobody will have a chance! lol
Putting big names is not a sufficient condition to play effectively, and even less sufficient to win.
I believe a serious best 11 should respect the balance a team must have:
1) the scheme designed must be realiable one: for instance, if you define a 4-2-3-1 you need to have 4 defenders, 2 IMs, 2 wingers, an offensive midfielder/second forward, 1 centerforward;
2) the players choosen must be suitable for the relevant positions: you can't put all together Maradona/Pelé/Di Stefano/Cruyff/Van Basten/Zidane, simply saying a couple of them will act as forward, 2 will play as wingers and 2 ad central midfielders ... 4 of them will be this way simply out of their natural position!
3) no more than 1 defender should be a very offensive one. Only in few cases 2 offensive wingbacks or an offensive wingbacks + an offensive central defender, provided defence is given by other means (3 central defenders or a couple of central midfielders very keen to defensive tasks).
If you look at concrete teams, this is the way they normally played: Brasil 1970 and 1982 had only one offensive wingback (Carlos Alberto and Junior), the others playing very defensively (Everaldo+Brito+Piazza in 1970 / Leandro+Oscar+Luisinho in 1982); Brasil 1994/98/2002 had two offensive wingbacks (Jorginho+Branco in 1994 / Cafu and Roberto Carlos in 1998/2002) but were plenty of central defenders & defensive midfielders (1994: Aldair+Marcio Santos+Mauro Silva+Dunga+Mazinho / 1998: Junior Baiano+Aldair+Cesar Sampaio+Dunga / 2002: Lucio+Roque Junior+Edmilson+Gilberto Silva+Kleberson).
4) same way, of the two wingers at least one should be keen to help the midfield. Brasil 1958/62 had Garrincha but also Zagalo helping the midfield and the defence, Brasil 1970 had Jairzinho but also Rivelino helping the midfield, Brasil 1982 had Eder but also Socrates placed on the right of the midfield, ...
5) team must have 2 central midfielders (or 3, depending on the scheme choosen) and at least one of them must be a defensive one.
6) if you have only 2 central midfielders, the other one may be a playmaker (possibkly paying some attention also to defending tasks) but not an offensive midfielder or a second forward.
To make an example, a
4-2-3-1 with
Yashin
Djalma Santos-Cannavaro-Beckenbauer-Maldini
Cerezo-Falcao (or Rijkaard-Gerson)
Garrincha-Maradona-Rivelino
Van Basten
is something which maybe could work
a 4-4-2 with
Yashin
Carlos Alberto-Bobby Moore-Beckenbauer-Junior
Garrincha-Cruyff-Di Stefano-Best
G. Muller-Pelé
IMHO will loose against any simply good team (for instance, I believe they would loose against Italy 2006 ;-) )
