OK, last week, Oliver Stone's (in my view) gasp-inducingly dreadful World Trade Center comes out. And that very week - THAT VERY WEEK - British and American authorities break up a plan for a major terrorist attack against transatlantic flights.
Last week, the splendid, brilliant, all-around superlative Little Miss Sunshine, expands into a good number of major metro areas - Little Miss Sunshine, a movie that sends up childhood beauty pageants - and lo and behold, lo and behold, an arrest is made in the JonBenet Ramsay case after 10 frickin' years.
How does that work? And does this make up for November 1979, when The China Syndrome came out in the same month as the Three Mile Island accident.

Dude, tell me about it. A couple of weeks ago, my family's hometown in the desert was flooded. All the rattlesnakes were washed into town. People were getting bitten left and right. Is it just freakin' coincidence that this happened two weeks before "snakes on a plane" was expected to arrive in theaters? Is Hollywood using time-machine technology to schedule their releases? What gives?

You know it's funny, just the other day I saw a film where the pool boy arrives at the house of these two hot nympho sisters and let me tell you I never thought it would happen to me but it did so that's why I'm writing this letter to the Forum.......er......

OK, we are, what, a little less than two months from the release date for Flags of our Fathers, the story focusing on the participants in the famous flag-raising photograph on Iwo Jima, and what happens today .....
Boom, Joe Rosenthal, the AP photographer who snapped one of the most famous photographs in history, dies at 94.
It's not all benevolence. Hollywood is apparently arranging deaths for the purpose of motion picture promotion!
