Universal Remotes?

So I'm thinking about getting a low-end (under $20) universal remote. I want to be able to control the TV, DVD player, cable box, possibly the VCR and maybe the home theater system. There's a universal remote that came with the home theater (RCA) which is absolute crap.
So can you recommend me a brand and tell me which ones to stay away from? Thanks.

My friend has a really basic one. It controls everything you just mentioned, plus his lights, and his fan. Pretty cool if you ask me. Im going to ask him right now, and I'll get back to you.


If anything, just rob someone of their high-end one.
