He was a drunk. Never won anything but respect from people that saw him play. Did not wanted to sign for Real Madrid or Barcelona. The Maradona of Central America... yeah Jorge is our Diego, some people ever wonder what would happened if Jorge was borned in Argentina or Brazil.

Here is a tributte to maybe the best player that ever came out of Concacaf with all the respect Hugo and his PentaPichichis deserves.

Being from El Salvador is the reason why Jorge isnt in FIFAS top 100 players, but a lot of people though his style was the same as Maradona. Jorge, this is for you and for making people believe soccer is the best sport in the world.

Some of his golazos. Jorge "El Magico" Gonzalez.

The player looked very good, his low gravity and superb prowess on the ball compensated for his lack of body strength. But I don't agree that he was the best player in the CONCACAF. If you look at the 60's and early 70's the Brazillian league was maybe the best in the world. All the South American lethiathans such as Pele, Rivelino, Jairzinho and Zico all played there without joining huge clubs.

Check this video of Zico, he was easily in the top 10 players of all time.

I'm not trying to slag your favourite player of all-time, honestly I'm not, but I just want to say that I wonder if he would have been able to pull-off those moves in a top European/Brazilian/Argentine League as opposed to the El Salvador league.

Mágico was regarded as one of the best players in the Spanish league. But he was eccentric and undisciplined, so he did never sign for a bigger team.

But Hugo Sanchez was the shit, yes.

I think the argument of who was better is legit, although I do have a lot of respect for Hugo. How about we leave Hugo and Jorge just like people leaves Maradona and Pele.

To me, Maradona was better than Pele, and Jorge better than Hugo. For others, Pele was better than Maradona, and Hugo than Jorge. Different points of view. This is the beauty of the best sport in the world....

Maradona-Pele
Jorge-Hugo

All of them great players!
