I think it's possible to figure out who will play who next round, if we assume (1) teams from the same country won't be matched up; (2) teams from the same second-stage group won't be matched up; (3) no second-stage group winners will face other second-stage group winners.
First, Real can't play Valencia or Barca (same country) or Milan (same group). Thus it has to be Real v. ManU.
Second, Inter can't play Milan (same country) or Barca (same group). That leaves it with either ManU or Valencia. But since ManU must play Real, that means the next game is Inter v. Valencia.
Third, Juve can't play Milan (same country) or ManU (same group). That leaves it with either Barca or Valencia. And since we've seen that Valencia must play Inter, the third game will be Juve v. Barca.
That leaves the final matchup between Ajax and Milan.
There you go--if the above three assumptions hold, we'll have:
Real v. ManU
Inter v. Valencia
Juve v. Barca
Ajax v. Milan

Well, LSATs, but yeah.
Word to the wise: I assumed that no teams from the same country can face each other only because in the past four or so years, this has never happened in the Champs League QF (to the best of my recollection). This seems to me too much just to be a coincidence, and I think I remember discussion about a uefa rule requiring it, but if that assumption isn't valid, then I'm back to the drawing board.

Sorry, but there is a flaw. This is the first year that clubs from the same country can face each other in the Quarterfinal stage. Thus, any of the second-placed qualifiers can face any of the first-placed qualifiers. So, in previous years you would have been correct, but this year all that goes out the window.

except that his matchup guess is completely and totally impossible and wrong he is a genius
The draw uses seeds
ManU and Real Madrid CANNOT be drawn together

Wrong, no more seeding. From the official competition rules:
a) The winners and runners-up of the same group must not be drawn against each other.
b) The group-winners must not be drawn against each other.
c) The runners-up must not be drawn against each other.
d) The runners-up must play the first leg at home.
Other than that, it's a random draw.

I meant wrong with respect to the fact that Man U v. Real is impossible, not the following post. This matchup is of course possible under the current rules for the draw.

whoa, tree. please re-read my post. it says IF certain assumptions are true, THEN the given result follows. it's not a guess, it's a conclusion based on several assumptions about the way the draw works. as i said repeatedly, if any of the assumptions fail, then my suggested draw will not necessarily happen.
as it happens, Lightning appears to have identified a recent change in the UEFA rules that undermines one of the three assumptions. seems that those rules also show that there are no seedings in the quarterfinals.

He doesn't want to know the draw because he's getting a tape of it.

throw out all earlier assumptions.

The four group winners - Barça, Valencia, Milan and United - will be drawn against one of the runners-up, who will be at home in the first leg. They cannot meet the second-placed team from their section, though matches between clubs from the same country are permitted. Thus, Milan could play Inter or Juve, and Madrid have a two in three chance of squaring off against a fellow Spanish side.

¿Why didn't they show the other names in the different bowls? ¡Conspiracy! :D
Too bad Madrid have to play the 2nd leg away, and also in the next round if they advance. :(

Well, I mean, if you practice enough you can pick the ball of your choice out of the 4 rather easily. So if UEFA really wants to rig the draw, I guess there isn't much we can do about it.

Which won't happen, by the way :-)
