But despite the disappointment of a first round exit, the 23-year old remains confident there are brighter skies ahead for the USA.
"Just because we had a little setback in the World Cup doesn't mean that we don't have a lot of good young players and can follow in the footsteps of guys that have shown the way for many years."
As long as our boys keep thinking this? I have faith that we can do well in each and every world cup we play in. Glad to see Convey used his World Cup experience in a positive manner unlike some of our other player

Glad to see someone counter "the Bruce's" doom 'n' gloom attitude.

Not that I disagree, but doom and gloom post-Germany was hardly territory exclusive to Bruce. Or weren't you on these boards then....
Good on ya, Bobby. Hope "America's Soccer Channel" gets plenty of your performances on the air here.

who's footsteps and where is he following them to? 'cause all we've ever been is bad or average. I'd like to be a bit better than that.
blaze your own trail, kid. it'll be better for all of us.

Hey, I like CR, I was just taking the cue.
My venom is set aside for Arena heads, past present and now.
Not our players.

I like the attitude as well. What's wrong with a little respect to the predecessors? Every US player needs to recognize those that have blazed the trail.

Boy, are we bored or what!?
Posting remarks about a scripted, off-the-rack cliche from an interview.
What did you want him to say? "I agree with Bruce. We'll never win again"?

CR? Costa Rica? Czech Rep? Cristian Ronaldo? I know I'm missing something obvious here ... but help me out.

I'd rather he not forget it. I'd much rather he apreciate the experience, and learn from it. Just an opinion though. I like Convey's attitude because it doesn't seem like he's backing down or apologizing for the tournament - this isn't the first time he's talked about it - rather he's being brash.

that wasn't brash. like somebody said, it was a cliche he tossed out there. landon spoke from the heart. you may not agree with him.
but yeah, it's a slow day.

I'd like to think Convey also spoke from the heart....but I guess we'll never know

eh, I think the previous poster was right ... it was a cliche tossed out in a nothing interview.
i just wish him luck and hope his club manager teaches him to pass to teammates and aim for the big net at the end of the field.

Not sure if you've been on these boards lately, but Bruce seems to have condemned the US to failure in international soccer for centuries, unless of course Kenny takes over the coaching reigns in 20 years.

Bobby also didn't speak less than a week after coming back from the WC. Time heals all wounds. Nor did he have to immediately start playing and help his floundering team. Gotta try to move on as quick as possible, or you'll do your team no good. Perspective.
