David Regis and Oguchi Oneywu are with Metz, Greg Vanney is with Bastia.

Whether or not Regis we'll return to Metz is up in the air as they have been relegated to the second division.

Wasn't Bryce Wegerle with an Italian side? I could be wrong. Is he even considered American?

Wegerle was with Udinese's top reserve side last season. I don't know what his experience with them was like, but he was on their roster.

He is currently with U.S. U-20 squad in Houston.

Oguchi Onyewu is an American playing with Metz, played for both the U-17's in New Zealand and the U-20's in Argentina. Now in the U-23 pool, and will eventually be called up to the full national team within the next 2 years most likely.

Italy just recently passed a law that prohibited non-EU players from signing with Italian teams. Not sure if they grandfathered any players currently on a squad. This bill would prohibit any American from contracting with an italian team in the future.

They passed a law not allowing non-EU players from signing???? That doesn't make sense with all the Brazilian, Argentinian, African, etc. players in that league.

This is false information. Italian leagues can sign any amount of non-EU players they want too.

No it is true.... they can have one non-eu per team. Not good for any immigrants.... Keep away from Serie A lots of trouble brewing there.

Whenever the azurri truly suck in a WC they do this.

I think players that have already been contracted can still play but no more after this.

So Jamar Beasley will be playing for Nocerina in C2 next year, eh? That's cool! It will be fun to see what he does there and how the team does.

They are allowing Serie A and Serie B clubs to sign no more than one new non-EU player this season, and Serie C/1 and lower clubs cannot sign new non-EU players.

All non-EU players already under contract to Italian clubs are grandfathered.

Serie A will continue to allow unlimited non-EU players on the field.

And the funny thing is,it works.

Italy's WC wins have occurred in periods where the league ws largely Italian(native or naturalized).
The big import eras generally coincide with fair to poor international form.
