Per Bayern website(fcb.de) and Kicker, Ismael has suffered what appears to be a broken shin bone in practice, going in for surgery, and will miss half the season. Talk about bad luck, plays in pain for a half year, gets the OP and then breaks leg...wish him quick recovery

is this the same shin bone that had the tumor they operated on? because that would be interesting if there were complications during his recovery and then once it was tapped in the right spot it cracked again :( i wish him a quick recovery but hope he doesnt come back to soon to re-injure it.

man, that is realy too bad for him, especially what he went through the last half a year. now we are back to the situation we had last year. and now he cant even fight for his place in central defense any more, giving vB a challenge. too bad for him, it puts him in a really bad position overall.

This is horrible news. I hope he has a speedy recover. Bayern will miss him.
This leaves us in a bit of a bind now that we FINALLY signed a 3rd quality CB. Looks like that money we have been NOT spending will come in handy now.
Bloody hell... ditch the 3-5-2 formation in the Magath Diamond Mid Thread.

i guess we might see some more of mats hummels now. apparently magath was quite pleased with him. and with the situation now, i wouldnt be surprised if he wil be sitting on the bench a couple times this next half a year.

"It's probably a broken shinbone," coach Felix Magath reported shortly after the likeable former Crystal Palace and Werder Bremen star was taken to Bogenhausen general hospital. The diagnosis, a clean break of both shin and calf bones in the lower left leg, more than confirmed the club and player's worst fears.

Its the freaking Bayern 6 Months Injury Pleague. If history is my yard stick we still have 2 more players to get injured and miss atleast 6 months of action.
lost

Isnt he the main reason why you guys lost to AC Milan this year? One Bayern player had a horrendous game, scored a goal iirc, but creted several for the opposition as well, i think this was Ismael

Several players had a bad game that day. I remember Sagnol not doing too well.

i read the article about it on FCB.de and it was like a gruesome tale hearing how some of the players heard the crack with only 2-3 minutes left on the practice pitch. and how his young son ran over to daddy while he was in pain on the pitch getting stretched off. i didnt expect to read a story like that
