I was looking to see if anyone (18+) is interested in playing in the Garden State League. Our team is out of the Union County area and we have been hit with the injury bug....we are down to about 13 guys right now and looking to pick up a few more.
If anyone is interested (and committed to playing a full season) PM me or post it here.

I'm actually on a GSSL team--we play in the B-Northwest Division, and we recently lost our field. I was wondering if you might have any suggestions/connections for fields in North Jersey? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Fields are at a premium right now.....we are fighting to keep ours also.

Are there any "out of shape, lazy, semicomatose" soccer teams/leagues in the North Jersey area? I'd love to join one.

Goto www.gssl.com Post and look through the team/player listings.
I'd say look for a Men's B-league team. A-league team is for former semi-pros, former college players etc. If they ever get a C-league up, it would be for people just learning that the ball is round.

Is the B-League really that low in quality?
Would it be at a high school level? lower?

B and A league can almost be interchangeable at times.....
Some teams prefer not to move up (or go down) for logistical reasons....The Semi Pro division is the tougher of the GSSL leagues but, then you are also dealing with the 'win at all cost' attitudes from some of the teams...not worth at my age anymore.
Section 113, if you are looking for 'rec' level games though, your best bet is some of the indoor leagues, they try their best to break it down by skill level.
Let me know specifically what area you are looking in and I might be able to help you out.

Wait...which thing is the ball?
Ok here is my thing, I don't want to play with any team who takes it too seriously. Ive been in enough games that have turned into shouting matches because someone takes it too seriously. Im not looking to run around the field with a beer and cigs in my hands (although, that would make a good league). I just realize im 33, and not 18. Im more Hurtado than Mathis.
But i would love to get into a team. Show my mad skilz. Impress my wife. Get groupies. The normal stuff.
