Hargreaves keeps saying he wants to play in the Premiership.

If he leaves it will be absolute disaster for Bayern they cannot take another hit to their midfield like that.

What are your opinions/comments???

Well....Owen keeps saying he wants to play in the EPL, but he didn't say he wants to leave right away.

Also, Owen's never been in the position that he is in now for Bayern, coming back from the World Cup in top form, on the breach of breaking through and quite possibily being the x-factor in Bayern's campaign this season.

Magath sees this thankfully and so does management, he'll keep starting games, even if that means at Micho's expense to guarantee him staying.

Personally, I believe he'll stick with us this season- anything can happen after that given his performances throughout the year. If Bayern fail to live up to its' own standards of success, he'll be offloaded.

I'd be pretty p!ssed if Hargreaves left. He's my second favorite player for Bayern behind Sagnol. And Sagnol nearly left this past season when we won the double!

Owen is the flavor of 2006... he is hot right now in England, likely because he was the only player in the starting XI that noone had any expectations of and yet turned in some impressive displays.

Owen will end up in England someday, I have no doubt, but clearly you can read in his own statements that that day will be somewhere down the road. He is very grateful to Bayern and all they have provided him. He seems to be a man of loyalty in an age of greed. I for one completely respect that.

Watch, now he signs for 15 mil with Chelski in a week!!! ;)

Hargreaves saying the wants to play in the PL is our running gag, we constantly hear it, but it never happens. :D
The point is he is happy in Munich, he will get a lot of match time at one of the big clubs in Europe, he has a longterm contract (till 2010) and Bayern won't sell anyway (they had an offfer for him about 20 Mios on the table, they did not give him away for RvN as ManU wanted, etc). There is no need to worry in this case

Send him over. Pretty please.

Hmm, no! :p

Owen has never hidden his admiration for the Premiership. But I think he will opt to stay with us.He is not blind to see that he is getting a more responsible role in this squad, and I just cant see him leave the club that made him a football player, and the club that stuck with him when the stupid english hoolingans were against his envolvenmentin the English NT.

Now he's talkin'!

He'll most likely play Gerrard on the right now and Downing on the left....

England might finally work

Hoeness doesn't care what Hargreaves wants, if Manu doesn't offer 25 Mio € he stays with us.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease give us Hargreaves, come on Uli, don't be bitter that Ruud didnt come, we tried to push him in your direction but he is one stubborn mule. this is Bayern, why the hell do you want to pack your team with Dutch and English internationals anyway?!

ps, can we talk about darren fletcher plus cash? How about Silvestre, french wbs seem to work out pretty well for Bayern, with sagnol and lizzy.

pps. we should have given you guys ruud plus cash for hargreaves and lahm

Hargreaves can't be sold unless we have at least two replacements signed (!!!) and the time for signing players is already too short. With a sell of Hargreaves we would need an AM and a DM/CM. The DM/CM would be necessary cause Ismael will be out for months and Demichelis our 2nd DM will have to play from time to time as CB then, though we still have Ottl but we can't rely on him that much especially in the CL. The AM would be necessary cause Owen has to play the more offensive part in the system with two DM. In my opinion all those trouble isn't worth the money ManU could offer, even with 25 Mio we had problems signing those two replacements and therefore ManU had to pay a huge compensation:

Hargreaves is CL proven, the WC bonus, he has still 4 years contract at Bayern, he is only 25 (i.e. he will still get better), he is a vital asset for Bayern this season, the need of last minute transfers for replacing him

Conclusion: There is imo no way buying him under 30 Mio Euro

No way, we can't loose Ze Roberto, Ballack and Hargreaves the same year.
That would be a SUICIDE.

You saw it first here:

"...Odds on Hargreaves being linked with Man Utd within a week anyone? They've never replaced Roy Keane."

Hurray! First thing I've ever got right. That assumes it happens, which it surely will? First good midfield signing Utd have made in a while if they can pull it off.

If he really wants to leave, Bayern should let him. He's been here for what seems like the longest time and has constantly sweat blood for this team, willing to sit down when he wasn't needed without complaining and playing whereever the manager wanted him too. He's 25 now, in the best form of his life and he wants to move abroad. There really is no point in forcing him to stay, we all know why Hargreaves has been so great, because he was always excited about playing for Bayern. Now if he really wants to leave, he should be let.

The only problem is, is he serious? He's been saying this for a long time now and there is little difference between then and now. Also, after losing Ballack and still having not replaced him, it would just be a stupid move for Bayern to let go of their heart in midfield. If in fact he does go, hopefully Bayern can get a lot of monet for him.
