I'm having far too much fun talking about our current squad of superstars and how many trophies we'll win. I need you all to contribute to a list of truly dire Chelsea players and eventually come up with a starting XI.

My bet is this team could still have beaten Spurs the last 15 years :)

I 'll throw in (from relatively recent times):
Bogarde
Jokanavic
Panucci
Fleck
Sutton
Paul Parker
Duberry
Rougvie

Jokanovic shouldn't be on that list.

Actually a good player, played in the wrong system and vastly under appreciated for the role he played in.

One that Makelele plays today, yet gets plenty of credit for.

Sutton?

Terrible at Chelsea - no doubt about that.

However, another player that was put into a team that played the exact opposite to his strengths.

With regards to Jokanovic, his time at Chelsea was one of the years I had a season ticket there. He was booed heavily by large portions of the crowd, not by me, I don't boo any Chelsea player/team.

But I did watch his game very closely and it wasn't that he was underappreciated (as say Smertin may be) but he was clumsy on the ball. He may have been out of position but his general lack of footballing skill wasn't compensated for by his size.

Makelele is absolute quality at the position. Hence his resume includes Chelsea and Madrid (who went into the tank a little when he left).

Joker played for FK Vojvodina, FK Partizan, Real Oviedo, CD Tenerife, - not exactly guiding lights - if he was decent another club would have played him.

Sutton, ah, well that's a little more personal. I always bought generic jerseys and then I started a curse. Laudrup and Sutton were two names I had with Chelsea shirts (other sports teams jerseys had similar misfortunes to the point I was banned from buying any jerseys unless we wanted to get rid of someone). I wanted him to do so much better and he just had zero confidence - all in a all a decent player but a flop at chelsea.

Now we need more names for this team..........unless everyone who ever played at Stamford Bridge was unlucky or out of position.

i bet this thread wont be too popular seeing that most chelsea fans now have been fans for 3 years :D

Haha - sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Some more awful names spring to mind. David Hopkin, Paul Nicholls, Jes Hogh, Gareth Hall. Roger Freestone in goal anybody?

As for Joker, at one point it was so bad that we all thought that the gaffer owed money to Eastern European mafiosa and being forced to pick him was the punishment until the debt was cleared :D

I told them all about your Dad's little joke...Sutton 9 Danke.

Your Dad's sense of humor is brilliant.

Didn't Jes Hogh start in the 5-0 thrashing of Man Utd? I am pretty sure he did.

Here's another one Enrique DeLucas and maybe Sam Dalla Bona (what the hell ever happend to him!?)

As I only started supporting Team Chelsea after Roman took over I have no idea who you lot are talking about.
:D

Sutton? Wasn't he supposed to be as good as Shevchenko?

;)

^%$*&^%*&* for the album cover.

Are you being a sarcarstic muvver about my old man??

Sutton scored his only Chelsea goal in that game I think. Hogh never scored.

Fat Sam demanded a move to Milan, couldn't get a game (well 4) and ended up at Napoli. He scored a few for Lecce in 04/05.

De Lucas - well, you get what you pay for :)

The funny thing about Robert Fleck, he used to torment us whenever we played Norwich who had a bit of a hoodoo over us during early 90's. Once we signed him, he scored about 2 goals in his whole Chelsea career.

How the hell could we get this far without mentioning Jody Morris. What's amazing is he played over 200 times for Chelsea.

(For the record Dave, we had a similar thread last year).

I could have done a better job than De Lucas.......yes, before anyone comes in, he was THAT bad! :p

And eddie Morris wasn't that bad, he gets points just for simply coming through our youth system! :D

i'm not as old as most a the people in here i guess. I started supporting Chelsea when Gullit played for them. There haven't been much flopped players as far as i can recall.

Oww...good one. It's amazing he played for Man Utd.

Another goalkeeper I hated even though he wasn't THAT bad, Ed De Goey.

So what you're saying actually is that De Goey is bad ?

He was ok...he wasn't great but I would never put him in a worst Chelsea XI. There's worse GK's than he.
