With under a week to go, I felt I should start the thread.

Spurs have had a good pre-season, only one game not won. Dortmund away, 1-1 draw. 3 goals conceded too. Vs Inter, Dortmund and Sociedad.

Bolton on the other hand have been poor.

But that is pre-season and we seem to struggle at the Reebok.

What a relief it will be to have Premiership football back, at last. The World Cup was a major disappointment, International football often is though. It's the domestic stuff that really stirs up the pride, for me anyway.

King may be out still, although his op was a success and he'll be running soon. Hopefully we will have a new signing or two by friday too, but maybe not. Who knows.

The game is on Sky's PremPlus at 5:15pm, Saturday August 19th.

I wish all first and last games would be saturday at 3pm. No midday, no 5pm, no sunday. All should start and finish at the same time.

BUT, it does give us a chance to watch the whole game live on TV. Which is a good thing!!

here in the US, FSC at 12:15 PM. looks like FSC will have a pretty good slate of Spurs games to start the season.

Damn you, basic cable!

I'm worried about this one. My hopes for a great Spurs season are high, but I think the first few games will make life more managable. Once we get over the 5 game hump, I think I'll calm down.

sam's coming up with excuses in advance ...

ok, that's not exactly fair, and i agree with his complaint; but bolton do not appear to be coming into the season in great shape. it may not be the best opening fixture to get, but on the other hand, we're probably getting that fixture at as good a time as any.

given both clubs' preseason forms, i like us to take all three points.

I'll be moving into my dorm in Omaha, Nebraska....so I need to find some place to see the game....and zero zero for some reason, I say.

You've been a loyal servant Colm, but the club has decided to go in a different direction this season.

You'll get a testimonial thread, but from now on Danners is running the show.

We always seem to struggle at Bolton and have lost are lost 4 visits there i believe so i'd take a draw if I was offered it.

King and Keane out is a shame :(

Yeah we always do have trouble at Bolton, but their pre-season form has been terrible and so far they have only brought in 2 players and lost alot of experienced players. I think we are going to beat them 2-1.

----------Robbo
Lee Dawson Davenport BAE
Lennon Zokora Jenas Davids
------Defoe Berbatov

Screw that, if Spurs are going to challenge for a top 4 spot these are the kinds of games they must win. 3-1 Spurs. Berbatov, Keano, Jenas.

Yup, definitely got to go for 3 points. Defoe and Berbatov are on fire and we'll all see how good Zok is very shortly.

Left back, Benoit whatever, looks quality too. And Bolton have been shocking in pre-season and have a host of injuries. If we don't win then i'll be pretty disappointed

Two good bets this season:

1) Spurs for 3 points on saturday

2) Bolton for relegation.

We don't have the squad or the money to bring new players in. With all the comings and goings of the transfer window so far this season we've actually got fewer players than at the end of last season. Couple that with our injury crisis, Faye/Davies/Fortune/Gardner all out, then you can see that it's going to be a struggle.

Another good tip would be Big Sam not being at the Reebok at the end of the season. He's been very distracted since the whole England saga and seems to be giving the impression that he wants something more than Bolton. If things start going wrong I expect him to jump ship and blame the board for lack of investment.

The last time you had a post like this, Bolton won 2-1. So I don't want to hear anymore from you, mmk? ;)
