Last week saturday, 5th August 2006, evry soccer fan headed to FNB Stadium aka Soccer City in Johannesburg. This is where the World Cup Final will be hosted in 2010.

This is the design of what Soccer City will look like in 2009. The design is derived from an African Calabash.

The event is the whole day even where 4 teams are nominated by South African masses and the top 4 are the ones picked to play in the event. This year the first semifinals was between Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtics and the next one was between Mameloding Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs. The finals were between Sundowns and Celtics but eventually Sundowns won the trophy.

The money from the gate takings and the telephone calls are donated to the respctive charity organizations.

Please tell us about the Soccer Charity event in your country.
