McKenna goes 90 in CD for Energie Cottbus in a 2-0 loss at Bor. M'gladbach

Imhof does not dress for Bochum, probably still rehabing from injury.

In the Bundesliga 1, Daniel Imhof is still injured and will not be in the 18 man VfL Bochum squad hosting Bayern Munich on Saturday.
On Sunday, Energie Cottbus and Kapitan Kev(in Mckenna) will be looking for their first points of the season as they have their home opener. They have a tough opponent in Hamburger SV who were so strong during the 2nd half of last season.
In the Bundesliga 2, Nik Ledgerwood remains in rehab as 1860 Muenchen are home to Kickers Offenbach tomorrow. Josh Simpson and FC Kaiserslautern play on Monday, no lineups posted as yet.

Bayern-Dortmund 2:0
It´s a absolutly phenomenia, everytime when you think Bayern is in a crissis they comback in a way that only top clubs can. For a season opener it was a good game, Dortmund did not hide in their own half, they tried to scored and had a lot of good chances, but Oliver Kahn in his 500. Bundesligagame was like a wall. Roy Makkay scored the first goal of the season in Minute 24. German International Bastian Schweinsteiger scored the final result 10 minutes after the break. Owen Hargreaves played in a more defense role and made a good game, had bad luck after a fantastic solo. Coach Felix Magath praised him for his extraordanary fisical shape.

Mainz - Bochum 2:1
Bochum had the better start into this game, although it wasn´t a good one. After 30 minutes Mainz entered better into the game and could take the lead, scored by a young player, named Tobias Damm, who played 7 minutes bevore in germans highest league. Coach Klopp had a golden hand line him up. With a penlty in minute 70 Mainz could increase the result, bevore Bochum could shorten the result to 2:1 by a deflected free kick. For the team of injured Daniel Imhof it was a unhappily defeat as they had 7:1 corners. I will keep you updated when he will return to play

Mönchengladbach - Cottbus 2:0
The escent team of Kevin McKenna learned the hard way. Cottbus was the better team and had innumerables chances to score, but nearly every time Borussia keeper Casey Keller could stop them. Especially in the first half they could take a 2 or 3:0 lead. Out of the blue Gladbach scored the 1:0 after a corner in minute 51. 5 Minutes later Cottbus Midfielder Aidoo was sent of for the second yellow card and another 5 minutes later German International Oliver Neuville transformed a penalty to the end result of 2:0.

Going to the second league. Comming to my team 1.FC Kaiserslautern

1. FC Kaiserslautern - Rot Weiss Essen 1:0
In advance, the best of all was the result. The game started with a 15 minute delay, as finally 40.000 people wanted to see it. Probably the number of supporters paralyzed the players, that´s the only explication I have for the dumpy start. Although Essen just ascent, they showed the mature game and put a lot of pressure to the insecure hometeam. Nevertheless 4 minute left in the first half hungarian international Hajnal scored the game winning goal. In the second half Kaiserslautern only held the result, Essen payed tribute to the good first half as they could not create to much chances to socre the equalizer. Big dissapointment for Josh Simpson, he did not play any minute.

Julian de Guzman won a tournament with Deportive La Coruña, by beating AC Milan 3:1 in the final. Julian played the last 20 minutes.

Canada U20 defender Nana Attakora Gyan has arrived in Hamburg yesterday. He will stay one week to take part in FC St. Pauli A-Juniors training.
If he stands the test, he - or in fact his parents :) - may sign a contract that starts at the beginning of next years football season (cause he's still going to school or something).
Scouts noticed him when Canada played Brazil 2-1 in a testmatch, and he got a prompt invitation by Newcastle United.
However, he didnt receive an entry permission for the UK so "We snapped at the chance immediatly", said sporting director Holger Stanislawski.

I'm curious if he'll make it to be the second Canadian in the squad beside his U20 teammate Jonathan Bourgault.

Nana did not play at the Brasil series due to a nagging injury he sustained during NTC training up in Vaughn. But he's a good solid young player and a cult squad like St. Pauli is a decent start for him after graduation

Can someone please merge the threads!?

Captain Kev goes 90 as Cottbus draw 2-2 with Hamburg.

Ledgerwood was not dressed as 1860 won 3-0 yesterday.

Good to see a point at home for Cottbus, as HSV are no slouch. Gets Cottbus off the bottom of the table and something for the fans to build on.

Seems Kapitan Kev got under the skin of Hamburg defender Demel:

No Canadians on the pitch yesterday in the VfL Bochum vs Bayern Munich game. Imhof is still out and soon-to-be Mancunian had the flu.

Jonathan Bourgault subbed into the game in the 78th minute in FC St. Pauli's 2-1 win over Werder Bremen reserves in the Regional League North Saturday. Congrats on his first appearance with the 1st team.
Blerim Rrustemi played 90 minutes in central D helping Borussia Moenchengladbach reserves to their first win of the season, 2-1 over Wuppertaler SV Borussiam, earning a yellow card in the process.

No sign of Kent O'Connor with 1860 Muenchen reserves as they drew 1-1 with the Karlsruher SC reserves on Saturday in the Regioanal League South.

The two teams with Canucks in the Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemberg, SV Waldhof Mannheim (Victor Oppong) and SC Bahlinger (Robert Kerek) remain undefeated as they both win 2-1 away from home (Victor playing 90 minutes, no report on the SC Bahlinger match as yet).

Josh Simpson is on the bench as FC Kaiserslautern are in action today away against Karlsruher SC. No score closing in on the half. Ktown have the youngest squad in the Bundesliga 2, with an average age of 24.

Update - KSC score just before the half. Bring in the Kid!!!

Josh Simspon picks up a yellow card in injury time. Karlsruher SC scored on a PK 10 minutes after as he came on to go up 2-0 and that is how it ends.

Did he play in Midfield?
He replaced the left back in a 3-5-2 formation but it's not clear he played there. He had a shot and a tackle and was not involved in the PK awarded against FCK (the right side defender was shown red for that) that put KSC up 2-0.

According the Kicker the formation was 3-3-3-1, but during the game I remember it listed as 4-2-3-1. I know that Simpson did see some time at left back during training, but Wolf was not happy with him there. My guess is they brought him on and went to a 3 back and had Simpson in the attack.

Well I wasn't there but Bundesliga site showed him replacing the left back, who had started in a 3-5-2 formation. Regardless, hope to see him start getting more playing time.

LOL! found this on a blurb of a Sportsnet article:

Hamburg defender Guy Demel banned for four matches

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) -- SV Hamburger defender Guy Demel was suspended for four Bundesliga matches by the German soccer federation on Tuesday.

The Ivory Coast international choked Energie Cottbus captain Kevin McKenna during a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Hamburg's tight defence helped it finish third last season but it has since lost two members -- Khalid Boulahrouz to Chelsea and Daniel van Buyten to Bayern Munich.
