Do we think that SN asked Bruce to leave TNT and Ralston with him because of the Costa Rica game?

No.

I'm actually glad to see Kirovski on the roster. I was not impressed with him in the past, but in the last year I saw him play a bit with Birmingham City, and I was impressed. He played well as a target man and a distributor.

I'm not surprised that no Revs made the list. This is a pretty strong team, and none of our reps have impressed much, altho BA did have kind words for Ralston's last stint.

If TT had stuck one or two in by now for the Nats, it might be a different tale.

Perhaps this is a wake-up call for Twellman, on the international stage i mean, by not getting called up. This only means that he will indeed need to get off to a strong start right away this season in order to get another call-up. And if Bruce is going to call-up Stewart, then he might as well bring JMM along as well. I dont see the logic behind Stewart's call-up.

My 2 cents: when you leave out the guys who are nicked and still not 100% (or not totally in form) like Rimando and Mathis and Armas, you've got a list of other players: Twellman, Ralston, Olsen, Mulrooney, Califf, A. Brown, Suarez, Victorine, Razov, Cunningham, whom I'd bet Arena probably feels will gain more by being with their teams and getting a chance to dominate in practice or at the MLS level (building confidence or becoming more assertive on the field or working on particular areas of emphasis) than they would leaving their teams and spending a week with the National camp.

Confed Cup, Gold Cup, Youth World Cup--all happening (or likely to happen--we'll see how the war affects things) this summer. Plenty of caps to go around for everyone.

He didn't have to ask. Why would Arena call in any players who just played two games in three days half a world away? Aside from that, no Revs would have been able to train with the team so how could he justify playing them?

I'm sure Bruce has not lost faith in Twellman yet. He'll get some more chances, especially if he comes close to duplicating his efforts of last season.

I remember a short while ago [before the cup, i dont know if it still stands true], but when Kirovski was in the starting lineup, the US has never won a game. I never liked him to begin with tho....

Most of that was due to him growing stale on various european benches.

I've seen him with Birmingham City, and he doesn't look out of place in the PL. I can see why Arena is still intrigued by him.

I'm glad that TnT didn't get the call. He's been under intense pressure to score and every game he plays and doesn't score is another notch in the failure stick for many. He's being held to a standard that the vets are not being held to and it's not fair. TnT's lack of production is more a failure of the midfield/defense he's had to play with rather then his inability to produce but the soccer idiots that call him "the next Jason Kreis" or are calling him "a bust" on the senior level don't really don't understand soccer well enough to see what's going wrong. Donovan, fatboy, McHead and others can not produce game after game and that's OK but stick poor TnT in and if he doesn't score, he's a bust. It's Crap. The same ones that think Mathis is the second coming are also the first ones to throw stones at Twellman.

I don't want to see him with that Nats again until the midfield becomes more stable and they find a combination that can create offense (like Reyna). JOB may fit that bill but we'll have to just see. I think that TnT will eventually be a success but he can't afford too many more non-productive games before Arena stops looking, even if it's not his fault.

Amen, RevsRule. My thoughts in a nutshell.
