statistical newbie question:

When counting minutes played in each match, do you count the extra time minutes in each half?

Or is it 45+45=90 no matter how much injury time is added on...??

A guy can only play 90 minutes in a match, no matter how much stoppage/injury time is added.

That said, if a goal is scored in first half stoppage time, it is noted as coming in minute 47+ or whatever (same for 92+).

And if a guy enters in stoppage time, he has to be credited with at least a minute played and the guy he replaced can only go 89.

Otherwise, the player subbed off gets credit for the whole minute in which he's subbed (I just clarified this this year), i.e. if a guy comes off at 63:40, he's credited with 64 minutes played and his replacement gets the other 26 if he finishes the match.

A guy can only play 90 minutes in a match, no matter how much stoppage/injury time is added. UNLESS there is overtime. Then he can get up to 120 minutes.
...

Good, info, but I updated Kenn's post. :)

There is no overtime in an MLS regular-season match. Sorry if I defaulted to that.
