THIS IS IT! Finally, I have been waiting soooo long to start an official regular EPL season match thread. I know it's a week early, but I figured with all the speculation about the starting XI and opening day; we needed to give this thread it's due. Now for Villa to witness the awesome power of a fully operational GROVE! lol.

I think Martin O'Neil was a great land for Villa, but he hasn't been there long enough to make serious changes in the side and truly put his mark on the club. Aston Villa are just not good enough to run with the Gunners.

My prediction:
2-0 to The Arsenal!!! (Cesc and Henry both score)

And the rest of Saturday turns into one of those brilliant, laid back days where nothing bothers you because Arsenal had handled the business and all is right in the world.

Arsenal to win 3:1

Henry(two) and RvP on the scoresheet.

I expect only Henry to come in in the line-up in the place of Ade or van Persie, and the others to be same from the Dinamo game.

It's like my refrigerator. A see of magnets, notes, reminders, and my 4yo daughter's art/school work.

I pick a tough test Villa are up for it with the new managment and what not.

I pick a 1 nil win, Henry scoring.

Arsenal wins 11-1, Henry with 10 goals and an own goal. Eleventh goal from Lehmann on a free kick from 45 yds out. We go on and score at least 8 goals per game and win the Sextuple (League, CL, Carling, FA Cup, FIFA World Club Championship and, somehow, the Nationwide Conference)

He gets so tired of scoring in the opposite goal that he decides to give Mad Jens a challenge? :)

Maybe TH will have a tshirt underneath his kit that says "Cashely is a wanker". :)

LMAO.....

Isn't it funny that Henry is tring to convince Cole into staying although isn't even making an attempt with Reyes, although we probably have a better chance of Reyes staying.

Back to the game, can't wait hoping Theo Walcott scores first, to mark a new era for Arsenal but it would also be fitting for Henry to score the first league goal in Ashburton Grove.

I am predicting a 4-1 win to Arsenal with an Henry brace, one from Van Persie and Walcott, we looked impressive again Zagerb and if we cary on playing like that we will be contenders for everything title this season. Also if Cole does stay, i wouldn't mind seeing him in an arsenal shirt, I being one of the only few not accpeting cole's actions but understanding them.

I am going a little of topic now but imagine your boss at work promised you a payrise from $25 000 per year but then later coming back and saying i can't offer you that much so we will offer you $15 000 which is what happened with Cole but with more money (not suprisingly) how would be feel?

I hope Walcott gets a run out, I want Henry or Cesc to score the first league goal at the Grove.

Arsenal 2-0.....
Henry and RvP....
and Mad Jens seeing a yellow.....

BTW, how much more playing time will RvP get this year vs. last? I think he deserves and should get more...

I am predicting a big win here. A 5-0 for me. Poor O'Neill should have waited for Ellis to step down before taking over. Now the whole team is in shambles and Aston Villa is still one of my favourites to be relegated this season.

And based on his pre-season performance RVP is certain to be paired with Henry for most of this season. He has truly grown a lot since the world cup.

This will be a test of whether our defense is good enough for this season. What I will be most concern about is whether Flamini or Hoyte will be playing. And whether whomever that is playing there is good enough. Cause Rosicky is going to drift to the center very often and that is going to cause a lot of pressure to our left back.

Well, looks like Ellis is really gone and there's still hope for Villa. However, I don't believe any players they buy now will be ready in time for the match against us, so I still stand by my prediction of a big win.

Arsenal 3 (Henry 2, Eboue) Cleveland Browns East 0. However, I think Aston Villa will be better sooner rather than later, with a good manager in Martin O'Neill and cash money from an American football guy.
