What are the dumbest Transfers or Denials deals done by teams. Sorry if it has already been done. After i heard a couple i got the idea.
Ill start with this, When Camoranesi started his career and lived in SA he got denied by Santiago Wanderers of Chile. The reason was because he didnt stand out physically. Any Others?

Tiny Northern Irish club Glentoran rejected a young George Best as being 'too light' before he was scouted by Busby's Manchester United.
Real Betis's world-record purchase of Denilson was pretty dumb. Lazio's purchase of Morientes was an even bigger bust, but to be fair there was no way to predict he'd go from hero to zero so quickly.

The Great Oceania Player of the century: Wynton Rufer who had a very successful trial for Norwich City in 1982 and played in the reserves and he had an appearance in a friendly against Fort Lauderdale Strikers. City's hopes of signing the Kiwi striker were dashed when the Home Office refused to grant him a work permit. Wynton played on the continent in Switzerland (FC Zurich, FC Aaruu, Grasshoppers) and Germany (Werder Bremen, Kaiserslauten) throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The highlight of his career being the goal that won Werder Bremen the 1992 European CupWinner's Cup final. He has also spent time in Japan (JEF United) and was then still a regular in the New Zealand international side. He was awarded the title of FIFA's Oceania Player of the Decade. He also won the Oceania Footballer of the Year title three times (1989, 1990 and 1992) & footballer of the decade (1990's). Wynton has won the domestic cup in Germany, Switzerland and New Zealand. One wonders if he would have brought Norwich City similar success. Norwich although had reached the league cup quarter-finals in 1984 had low placings when promoted to the division 1 and was then relegated again a couple of times before going back up again. during the mid to late 80s, Norwich City was struggling to prevent Relegation at the bottom of the table. He could have made plenty of difference to the team.
Wynton Rufer Superstar; Denied by the Home Office in 1982 and againest Norwich City wishes.
In the NZ during the 1980s, we still had only the British "Big League Soccer" on Saturday Mornings on free to air TV, he would have been a superstar in his own country had he been playing for Norwich City. The general NZ population never understood how amazing he was as a player until afterwards and they still don't know him, only his titles. What a difference he would be to the country had he been accepted. By the time the Danny Hay waas playing for Leed United and even today with Ryan Nelsen in the Blackburn Rovers, there is no soccer on free to air TV, only on SKY TV and that is a subscripition rip off. What a difference that would made. Great for the Swiss and Germans crowds, they knew him as a player than we ever would know.
Hang loose guys

Isn't there a thread like this already, or am I thinking of the UEFA forum?
