There was a Birmingham City forum. However, the number of posts was pathetic. I think the mods eliminated it for lack of interest. Not many of us posted there. I tried, I really did.

Looking forward to Brum, West Brom, and Wolves all going up!

No no no not that sh!t from Staffordshire. Mid-table mediocrity yet again will do just fine for them.

As for John Harston with that big medicine ball head, i think if we can give him the service then he'll be alright for goals but our midfield isn't intelligent to figure out that he needs the ball straight to him and they want to him to run more than 10 yards for the ball which he is physically incapable of doing.

Bendtner took his goal brilliantly v Colchester but listening to Tom Ross on 1152 today he sounds quiet - Stoke are really getting stuck in think.

Yeah keep this thread going for a bit of banter now and again. I will pop in and take a look now and again.

Birmingham are my tip for Championship winners this season 2006-2007.
You will be pleased to know West Brom tipped for 3rd and Wolves.... well not worth considering for promotion at all!!:D

Good luck for the season except when you play the Greens!

Please feel free to take a look on the Plymouth Argyle thread and add some friendly banter if you like. :)

So who have you got for 2nd?

Blues were quite simply shocking today.

1. No Width
2. Couldn't pass to anyone in a Blue shirt
3. Boring, Negative tactics
4. 3 holding midfielders
5. Damien Johnson (bad)
6. Damien Johnson as captain (even worse)

I've said this for two years but Bruce should be sacked. I can't stand his "Hoofball" style of football much more.

Crystal Palace next up at St Andrews should be a tasty affair.

Dunn could be on his way to Man City. Ok he's had his injury problems but he is the only player who can change games, and is our only top class attacking midfielder.

Bruce Out

Keep Right On

At the end of the day we've played 3 games and he is still not injured. That to me is success.:)

Blues sign Gary McSheffrey from Coventry City for £4 Million pounds. A good signing me thinks, he's a left winger who can score goals. He scored 17 goals last season so there is no excuse for Bruce to play defensively anymore. My dream midfield for Blues would be:

......Larsson........Nafti............Dunn............McSheffrey.............

I know this won't be because of DJ being captain but hey i can dream.

£4m for McSheffrey can't help feeling you have been mugged! Why do Birmingham need to spend that amount on a player in the championship?

Sorry Dude I just do not see McSheffrey becoming a premiership player either. I always thought he was primarily a striker. You would be promoted without him anyway.

I agree with about the price tag but i look at it like this, There is no excuse now for Bruce to play a defensive style of football especially in the midfield. All you have to do is look at what he has got at his disposal and you realise that we do have a Premiership midfield even more so now with the balance between attack and defence.

Defensive:

Damien Johnson
Stephen Clemence
Mehdi Nafti
Fabrice Muamba

Attacking

Neil Danns
David Dunn
Neil Killkenny
Gary McSheffrey
Julian Gray
Seb Larsson

Pretty good mix, would you agree?:)

I have to say from the games I saw Birmingham play last season they were very defensive and seemed afraid of committing players forward.

Definitely will do well this season! Doesn't Julian Gray play wide left as a winger?

I think you have a lot of midfielders, but the teams ambition will depend on the strikers who should do well at this level. I like the look of Bendtner.

We all know what a defensive minded manager Bruce is. That was his problem in the Prem, not going for the win and thinking that a 0-0 draw away at Fulham is a fantastic result.

We have some good strikers, i think it's just getting the mix of a solid defensive unit as well as a quality attacking side.

Strikers:

Nicklas Bendtner
Mikael Forssell
Cameron Jerome
DJ Campbell

I still think Steve wants one more Premiership striker.

Again, Steve Bruce you no excuses this time cheif, your team is good enough.

One more striker, you have got to be joking!!

With the quality you have already. I would be happy if Argyle had one of them. DJ Campbell - what a bargain! The striker I would least want from those are Cameron Jerome. The others are better in my opinion, but then what do I know?
