I'm sorry if people don't think this is worth a new thread. However, the club today has announced that their season ticket sales have been huge, even though pundits and idiots like the Arsenal fans that come on this board though otherwise. Sunday is the season ticket deadline....we have sold close to 64,000 season tickets already. Add in the allocation for away support...and we have now sold as many season tickets as were seats in OT last year!

Pretty much what I'm trying to say is that only idiots think that United couldn't fill Old Trafford. We still have the most desired ticket in the Prem.

United are probably getting that info out there now to counteract the fallout from the poor attendance they will probably have for the Seville game.

There's been a lot of talk about United mounting a big campaign to sell season tickets. It had been painted as desperation by the FC United types but now it seems they have just been good salespeople.

I agree in regards to the Sevilla game. They had said so many huge names before the match, like Madrid and Barca, so Sevilla is so obviously a backup plan.

I guess that backlash against Glazer never really materialized like everybody thought it would. Hail to the Bucs!

The club has released more seats hence more season ticket sales.

The capacity of OT is 76,000. If we have sold 64,000, how does someone without a season ticket get a ticket for a league game, after you factor in away support?

I dont think this story is correct.

I know for def that all the season tickets hadnt been sold after the original deadline. Season tickets for the third tier were still on sale, dont know if they still are. I wouldnt get a third tier ticket.

Not all people actually use their season tickets, I think. I would say for any regular home game, probably a fair two to four thousand will actually not utilize their season tickets.. maybe more. I don't think it's unrealistic.

If you dont use them means no one sits in your seat. Club cant sell your seat, if your not in it. Besides will only know seat is empty after match starts. If you have a season ticket your seat is your seat all season for league games.

I have one too, when it arrives in the post ;-)

If they had sold 64,000 season tickets I wouldnt bother applying for a ticket, cause there wouldnt be many for members.

Got mine too, from a friend of a friend.......... you know how it works. :)

Don't know exactly how many they've sold but that number seems a little high to me too as I didn't think we'd allocate that many in the first place. I could be wrong of course, and with those new "one season" season tickets it could well be the case.

Still looks like there may be a few left as this came through my door two days ago:
