Do some of you ever do that? my roommates and I have got a hook, so we can basically play all four of us on one team, but it's incredibly chaotic. So 1 or two of us fixes on a player. It means you are that player for the entire game, you can set it up at the player settings menu. At first I didn't like the thought of it but it turns out, it makes for an even more accurate football simulation experience than when you can run around as everybody. You have to be very economical with your players movement, cause if you'll hold R1 all the time he'll be damn near dead by HT. You have to really choose your moments, and tactics come into play even more.

When 1 of us plays fixed, he usually goes for the number 10 position. When two play fixed, it's mostly number 10 and either one of the strikers or our deeplying midfielder.

Does anybody else have any experiences with this?

It's definitely a different experience, but I prefer playing fixed in short-sided games like NHL...

I tried it last night. Was fun but there aren't any good camera views for it. Either you can't see where the ball is half the time or if you use the player cam you can see the ball the whole time, but it's extremely hard to control it when you get it because everytime you change directions the whole camera changes.

Anyone have a tip for a good camera angle to use for fixed? I played as Brazil vs Morocco and controlled Emerson the whole game (I figured midfield would be the best bet so I didn't ruin all our chances to score or give up some stupid goals on defense). I had one shot on goal the whole game but it was useful because Ronaldinho rebounded it and assisted Ronaldo for a goal. Ze Roberto also scored when I was back on defense and we won 2-0, but overall nearly every time I touched the ball I pretty much lost it because when I'd turn to go up field the camera moved so much I couldn't tell which way was up and by the time I got my barrings again someone had already stolen the ball from me. The only time I was able to do anything with it (when I got my shot on goal) was when I stole the ball from a Moroccan defender and went on a breakaway so that I didn't have to change the camera at all, it was facing their goal the whole time.

I love played fixed mode with the "player" camera. It's a bit disorienting at first, but it's so much fun watching the play develop from the backline towards you.

When I play fixed with a couple of guys in the team who can be anybody, the camera is your normal standard camera. That means that most of the time, I'm not visible. When I'm not, I use radar and just a general sense of direction to get involved in the game, but without running back like a madman to be where the ball is all the time, cause it would mean I'd leave our strikers without support.

I really think that the fact that most of the time you're not visible and you can only have a couple of touches the entire game (depends on position) makes it incredibly realistic. When I play with just anyone, I'm really satisfied with a goal from distance or a bicycle kick or something, but when I play fixed, the satisfaction comes from being usefull when you get the chance to. There's quite alot of pressure on you aswell, cause my roommates are the ones who are defending and trying to get the ball up to me, and then join the attack, and they're not happy if I try some idiot dribble or impossible shot.

Some of the most fun I've had with a video game was playing FIFA WC98 2v2 + keeper training matches with 3 friends. Kind of the best of both worlds: you get the unique experience of controlling a single player, but also get a lot of touches. I wish Winning Eleven would let you play matches with any number of players, 2v2, 5v5, etc. A change of pace, and great for multiplayer.
