I hope Defoe plays alot though because he is really class but just hasnt shown it lately. Not sure about left wing. Hopefully Mido comes back as well. Did we buy any other right backs?

I think BAE will replace Lee at LB, and Lee will replace Staltieri at RB. However, they'll all interchange. Routledge will get involved.

I see Tainio taking up more time than Davids on the Left.

i think davids might play instead of murphy - especially for what is likely to be a physical battle against bolton.

other than that i agree. i can see the formation being very fluid and changing between a 4-4-2, 4-3-3 and 4-5-1

....I think the pre season has shown he is willing to have a very fluid chaning formation. I'm not holding my breath that anyone will be in before the 19th to be a natural choice on the left. Jol likes Davids so if fit he'll start.....probably the best time of the year for him to play so we'll get the full force of Davids. I just wish he was 5 or so years younger.

I see a left winger coming in to take Davids' place.

It's a tough one whether to play Keane or Defoe, given Berbatov's type. He's almost in the middle of Keane's drop-deep and Defoe's last-man style.

I think Danners is spot on for the first 11 when everyone is healthy. Here's my take on it in a non-442 formation. I'll be listing it from top to bottom, as I just can't get used to these formation listings that appear to be viewing from underneath the pitch!

I also see Tainio pushing both Davids and Jenas for a starting spot. I see Huddlestone being the first backup midfielder, and Murphy being a squad player until he's shipped off somewhere.

Davenport and Gardner will both see time in defense replacing Dawson and King depending upon opponent. If we're playing speedy forwards I'd expect to see Gardner. If we're facing fowards with less pace I'd expect to see Davenport. Staltieri will be the first backup fullback, with Lee swithching to the left if Ekotto cannot play. Up top Defoe will get a lot of time. If we add Mido, he may be the wildcard for us. Obviously he replaces Berbatov, but he could also turn into a cancer, so the attitude watch begins day 1 upon his arrival, if he comes.

Lee is predominantly right-footed. Started off as a right winger, then right back and now left back.
